  • Patent number: 9199155
Abstract: In one example, a method includes determining, by a computing device and based at least in part on an initial character string, one or more candidate morpheme sequences, wherein each of the candidate morpheme sequences includes the initial character string and one or more candidate morphemes. The method further includes outputting, for display, the one or more candidate morpheme sequences. The method further includes receiving an indication of a user input detected at a presence-sensitive input device. The method further includes selecting, based on the indication of the user input, at least one of the candidate morphemes from one of the candidate morpheme sequences to define a selected morpheme sequence that includes the initial character string and the selected candidate morpheme from the one of the candidate morpheme sequences. The method further includes outputting, for display, the selected morpheme sequence.

  • Publication number: 20140351760
Abstract: A computing device is described that outputs, for display, a plurality of character input controls. A plurality of characters of a character set is associated with at least one character input control of the plurality of character input controls. The computing device receives an indication of a gesture to select the at least one character input control. The computing device determines, based at least in part on a characteristic of the gesture, at least one character included in the set of characters associated with the at least one character input control. The computing device determines, based at least in part on the at least one character, a candidate character string. In response to determining the candidate character string, the computing device outputs, for display, the candidate character string.
