  • Publication number: 20070072494
Abstract: A multi-piece electrical receptacle terminal including a frame with a receptacle section adapted to receive a male contact; and a spring movably captured in the receptacle section. The spring includes a front end and a contact section spaced from the front end for contacting the male contact when the male contact is inserted into the receptacle section. The frame includes inward projections capturing the front end of the spring at the inward projections. The receptacle section includes an interior facing frame contact surface for contacting the male contact when the male contact is inserted into the receptacle section. The frame contact surface includes at least one inward projection which form a plurality of angled contact areas. At least one of the contact areas is angled relative to an insertion path of the male contact into the receptacle section.

  • Patent number: 6551118
Abstract: A lever type electrical connector assembly includes a first connector having a housing with opposite sides. A single actuating lever is pivotally mounted on the housing intermediate the opposite sides thereof for pivotal movement about an axis extending in a direction between the opposite sides of the housing. The actuating lever includes a cam groove. A second connector mates with the first connector and has a cam follower projection to be engaged in the cam groove of the single actuating lever, whereby the connectors are mated and unmated in response to rotation of the actuating lever.

  • Patent number: 6428366
Abstract: An electrical terminal socket is provided for receiving a terminal pin member. The socket is stamped and formed from a single sheet of conductive metal material and includes a base wall, and a pair of side walls folded upwardly from opposite sides of the base wall. A top wall is folded inwardly from the top of one of the side walls, whereby the base wall, side walls and top wall define a socket with an opening at a front end thereof for receiving the terminal pin member. A terminating section extends from the base wall at a rear end of the socket. A spring arm is folded downwardly from a rear end of the top wall into the socket. The spring arm is tapered from a wide end thereof joined to the top wall to a narrow free end thereof which does not interfere with the terminating section during stamping and forming of the electrical terminal socket.
