  • Patent number: 10145657
Abstract: A shield cover and a shield retaining such a cover with an electrical discharge system with an activated condition wherein electrical power is applied to an electrically conductive pathway, which can be formed from positive and negative electrical pathways running generally parallel, on the shield cover. The shield cover has a shield cover body for being applied to, retained by, and removed from the shield body. An electrical discharge system is formed by a source of electrical power, the electrically conductive pathway, and a switch or other actuator for activating the electrical discharge system to the activated condition. The shield cover body could be formed from a stretch fabric, and the electrically conductive pathway could be formed by conductive thread. Electrical insulation material can prevent arcing between the shield cover and the shield body. An arcing structure can automatically or selectively produce visible or audible electrical arcing.

  • Patent number: 9622550
Abstract: A robotic zipper system for joining and separating zipper halves of a zipper tape. A chassis retains an actuator that drives a zipper slide geometry along the zipper tape to join or separate the zipper tape. A sensor can determine zipper slide position, and a control module can provide an electrical signal to the motor to move in forward or reverse. The actuator can have a motor that drives a gear system that mechanically engages zipper teeth. Teeth of the gear system can be out of phase to mesh with alternating gaps between the zipper teeth. The actuator can be removable relative to a zipper slide. Zipper slide geometry could be integrated into the chassis, such as in the form of a channel, potentially with a central post. A sensor could be positioned to detect the presence or absence of zipper teeth through an opening in a base plate.

  • Patent number: 6961227
Abstract: A self-defense wearable with a body portion, an electrically conductive pathway applied over the body portion, an electrically charged seam construction for producing an electric charge relative to an outer surface of the body portion, a power source, an activating switch for inducing the self-defense wearable into a charged condition, and a wiring network for producing an electrical association between the electrically conductive pathway, the power source, and the at least one activating switch. The self-defense wearable can be an upper body covering, and the activating switch can be a compression activated switch disposed on a tongue disposed at a distal end of an arm of the self-defense wearable to underlie the wearer's palm whereby the self-defense wearable can be induced into a charged condition by a clenching of the wearer's hand.
