  • Publication number: 20230393105
Abstract: A support fixture for chromatography columns operated by a liquid handling robot includes a frame and a lid. The frame has a base and a column stand extending upward from the base. The frame also includes bores extending vertically between the base and an upper portion of the column stand. The lid is movably attached to the upper portion of the column stand and has openings that axially align with the bores in the frame. The lid is movable between an open position configured to allow insertion of chromatography columns into the bores and a closed position configured to secure the chromatography columns in the bores.

  • Publication number: 20230278234
Abstract: A liquid handling robot has a worktable that supports a rack holding a set of pipette tips. The liquid handling robot also has an arm that is operably suspended above the worktable, where the arm includes a tip receiver that is configured to engage the set of pipette tips. A controller of the liquid handling robot is configured to raise the tip receiver away from the worktable to withdraw the engaged set of pipette tips from the rack. A sensor is fixed relative to the worktable and is operable to emit a beam. A microcontroller monitors the sensor with the arm in a checking position to determine if the rack interrupts in the beam to indicate that the rack stuck to the pipette tips, which is autonomously resolved by the liquid handling robot performing a corrective action.

  • Patent number: 10712261
Abstract: Fertilizer application is challenged by inadequate constraints on key factors that determine how much to apply, and when to apply. Systems and methods for are disclosed that can make use of prior information (e.g. from field trials), time series data from a radiation measuring device, and episodic but spatially extensive satellite data, to constrain these uncertainties.

  • Patent number: 10585210
Abstract: The present inventors have developed a ground station that, when installed in a field, can collect upwelling and downwelling radiation, and GPS location coordinates, Data from remotely sensed imagery (RSI) can be used to monitor crop health. Use of the ground station can obviate the need for personnel to be deployed into the field during drone overflights for management of agriculture.

  • Patent number: 10578772
Abstract: An acoustic disdrometer is provided for measuring precipitation. The acoustic disdrometer has an acoustic transducer positioned within an acoustic chamber defined by an acoustic shell. Precipitation impacting the acoustic shell generates sound waves that are collected by the acoustic transducer for processing.

  • Patent number: 10156475
Abstract: A radiation measuring device for measuring electromagnetic radiation originating from an external source. The radiation measuring device includes, a spectrometer, a pyranometer, a pyrgeometer, a diffuser, and a control unit. The spectrometer and a pyranometer are positioned in a sensor zone of a housing of the radiation measuring device. The spectrometer measures visible shortwave radiation and near-infrared shortwave radiation received at the sensor zone. The pyranometer measures shortwave radiation received at the sensor zone. The pyrgeometer is positioned in another sensor zone of the housing and measures longwave radiation received at the other sensor zone. The control unit receives radiation measurements from the spectrometer, pyranometer, and pyrgeometer. A corrected amount of radiation received at the sensor zones of the radiation measuring device is determined from the received radiation measurements. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
