  • Publication number: 20090172768
Abstract: A method includes setting a rule policy with an embedded information technology application. The method further includes parsing the policy rule from a policy engine to a context engine. The method further includes determining a computing device condition with the context engine based upon the parsed policy rule. The method further includes notifying the policy engine with the context engine if the computing device condition has changed from a first condition to a second condition. The method further includes, in response to the computing device condition changing from the first condition to the second condition, executing an action according to the parsed policy rule. An associated system and machine readable medium are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7516897
Abstract: An automatic power control circuit for a laser driver includes precharge circuitry to precharge inputs to a comparator receiving an indication of laser output power, for example from a monitor photodiode. The precharge circuitry can be selectively activated when a laser driven by the laser driver is operating in burst mode, as opposed to operating in continuous mode. In addition, a digital up-down counter may be used to increase or decrease a digital value used to set a bias level for the laser, with the digital up-down counter counting up if the comparator indicates the laser output is too low and counting down if the comparator indicates the laser output is too high.

  • Patent number: 6713749
Abstract: A Loss Of Signal (LOS) circuit in an opto-electronic receiver circuit. The LOS circuit includes a current to voltage converter and a comparator circuit. The current to voltage circuit receives a current signal including a DC current signal component from a photodetector circuit included in the opto-electronic receiver. The current to voltage receiver generates a voltage signal in response to the DC current signal. The comparator circuit receives the voltage signal from the current to voltage circuit and generates a LOS signal from the voltage signal by comparing the voltage signal to a reference voltage signal.

  • Patent number: 6386422
Abstract: A solder reflow oven for the processing of ball grid array substrates bearing solder balls is described, comprising: input means for introducing substrates into the oven, a processing chamber within which the substrates are subject to a solder reflow process, and output means for discharging substrates from the oven for further processing or handling, and means for transferring the substrates through the processing chamber in a first direction towards the output means. The processing chamber comprises a plurality of heating and cooling zones arranged with a constant pitch in the first direction, and the transferring means is adapted to move the substrates in the first direction in stages, with each component moving a distance equal to the pitch between two zones in each stage, whereby the components are moved from zone to zone in stages.

  • Patent number: 5973631
Abstract: In a subranging ADC, the unary DAC is trimmed by walking through its transfer function while toggling an offset cell at the input to the coarse quantizer and a reference cell in the DAC such that the reference cell is substituted for the cell under test on alternating cycles to provide the last lsb of the reconstructed signal. A test circuit measures the voltage at the output of the summing amplifier for both conditions and generates an error voltage in which the common mode terms have been rejected. The cell under test is then laser trimmed to reduce the error voltage until the cell's DNL error is within an error bound of a tolerance. In one embodiment, the tolerance is dithered to improve spur free dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 5304026
Abstract: A multi-story transverse shifting type automatic parking device is described which is suited for a multi-story parking building. Each floor of the building is divided into at least one row of equal blocks, each row of equal blocks being formed with an elevator passage way centrally located and at least two parking units on the opposite sides of the elevator passage way. At least one lifting gearframe is installed in the elevator passage way and is driven horizontally from one row to another with a lifting gear mainframe which includes a mother elevator driven vertically and a multi-story daughter elevator driven to move vertically in the mother elevator. A plurality of pairs of transverse shifting mechanisms respectively fastened in each floor of the building are provided and each pair of which are fastened at opposite sides of the elevator passage way.

  • Patent number: 5239407
Abstract: A large second-order nonlinearity (.chi..sup.(2) .about.1 pm/V.about.0.2 .chi..sup.(2).sub.22 of LiNbO.sub.3) is induced in the near surface (.about.4 .mu.m) region of commercial fused silica optical flats by a temperature (250.degree.-325.degree. C.) and electric field (E.about.5.times.10.sup.4 V/cm) poling process. Once formed, the nonlinearity is roughly 10.sup.3 -10.sup.4 larger than that found in fiber second-harmonic experiments and is very stable at room temperature and laboratory ambient. The nonlinearity can be cycled by repeated depoling (temperature only) and repoling (temperature and electric field) processes.
