  • Publication number: 20190335184
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for processing high dynamic range (HDR) and wide color gamut (WCG) video data for video coding. A device comprising a memory and a processor may perform the techniques. The memory may store compacted fractional chromaticity coordinate (FCC) formatted video data. The processor may inverse compact the compacted FCC formatted video data using one or more inverse adaptive transfer functions (TFs) to obtain decompacted FCC formatted video data. The processor may next inverse adjust a chromaticity component of the decompacted FCC formatted video data based on a corresponding luminance component of the decompacted FCC formatted video data to obtain inverse adjusted FCC formatted video data. The processor may convert the chromaticity component of the inverse adjusted FCC formatted video data from the FCC format to a color representation format to obtain High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) video data.

  • Publication number: 20190331066
Abstract: An EGR cooler may include an EGR cooler housing having top, bottom and side walls, inlet and outlet end walls disposed at opposite ends, and a longitudinal axis extending in a direction of exhaust gas flow from the inlet end to the outlet end. A plurality of cooling tubes extend through the EGR cooler between the top and bottom walls, and are arranged in a cooling tube array to form an exhaust gas receiving area at an upstream side of the cooling tube array proximate the inlet end wall so that exhaust gas flowing into the EGR cooler through an exhaust gas inlet opening will flow into the exhaust gas receiving area and then disperse through the cooling tube array. A pitch distance between the cooling tubes may be greater proximate the longitudinal axis than proximate the side walls to promote flow through, instead of around, the cooling tube array.

  • Patent number: 10453353
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a reading comprehension apparatus comprises a processor, an optimized reading comprehension display, and a selection tool to select text within a digitized portion of a written work. A word ranking engine ranks each word from the selected text, via the processor. A filtering engine identifies a plurality of top-ranked words within the selected text and an animation engine animates and displays each of the top-ranked words identified by the processor in a sequential manner on the optimized reading comprehension display. Furthermore, the animation engine displays a presentation of the selected text including the top-ranked words in a highlighted manner.

  • Patent number: 10445506
Abstract: Various examples relate to detecting vulnerabilities in managed client devices. In some examples, a system determines whether a vulnerability scan of a computing device is required to be performed. The system installs a vulnerability detection component in the computing device in response to determining that the vulnerability scan is required to be performed. The system requests the vulnerability detection component to perform the vulnerability scan of the computing device. The system transmits a result of the vulnerability scan to a remote management service for the computing device.

  • Patent number: 10397443
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for providing improved color remapping. In some examples, a video bitstream is obtained that includes a plurality of pictures having a first color characteristic. A color remapping information (CRI) supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message is identified from the video bitstream. A restriction is placed on the CRI SEI message such that a value of a syntax element of the CRI SEI message is restricted based on a condition. One or more samples of the plurality of pictures is remapped from the first color characteristic to a second color characteristic using a color remapping model of the CRI SEI message according to the restriction. In some cases, the condition is a chroma format of the plurality of pictures, in which case the value of the syntax element of the CRI SEI message is restricted based on the chroma format.

  • Patent number: 10390087
Abstract: A video processing device is configured to obtain, from a bitstream, one or more syntax elements indicating one or more partitioning schemes for an output layer set. For each respective partitioning scheme of the one or more partitioning schemes, the respective partitioning scheme specifies a division of the output layer set into one or more partitions. Each layer in the output layer set belongs to exactly one partition in the respective partitioning scheme. Additionally, the video processing device obtains, from a Supplemental Enhancement Information (SEI) message or video usability information (VUI) in a video parameter set (VPS), hypothetical reference decoder (HRD) parameters for each of the one or more partitioning schemes. For each respective partition of the respective partitioning scheme, the video processing device tests, based on the HRD parameters for the respective partitioning scheme, the respective partition for conformance to a video coding standard.

  • Patent number: 10381559
Abstract: Alternating stacks of insulating strips and sacrificial material strips are formed over a substrate. A laterally alternating sequence of pillar cavities and pillar structures can be formed within each of the line trenches. A phase change memory cell including a discrete metal portion, a phase change memory material portion, and a selector material portion is formed at each level of the sacrificial material strips at a periphery of each of the pillar cavities. Vertical bit lines are formed in the two-dimensional array of pillar cavities. Remaining portions of the sacrificial material strips are replaced with electrically conductive word line strips. Pathways for providing an isotropic etchant for the sacrificial material strips and a reactant for a conductive material of the electrically conductive word line strips may be provided by a backside trench, or by removing the pillar structures to provide backside openings.
