Abstract: A live video system is provided. The system includes a camera, a mobile device, and a wireless communication link between the camera and the mobile device, wherein video and audio captured by the camera is sent to the mobile device. The mobile device may further include a live video software application, wherein the live video software application provides instruction to a processor of the mobile device to activate a mobile network connection with a server to send video and audio captured by the camera and received by the mobile device through the mobile network connection to the server for streaming. The camera further includes local memory and may record audio and video simultaneously with the sending the audio and video to the mobile device, wherein the recording is in high definition and remains in the custody of the emergency personnel in order to maintain proper custody for evidence purposes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to video transmission systems and provides a method of providing visual information to a viewer, comprising the steps of: (a) receiving at a receiver, a stream of video data transmitted from a video camera; (b) receiving and monitoring the stream at a server connected to the receiver; (c) transmitting the stream from the server to one or more remote viewers over a communications network; and (d) transmitting a snapshot image to one or more remote viewers in response to the detection of a characteristic in the stream. The invention finds application in areas such as the online presentation and sale of goods and services.
