  • Publication number: 20130343230
Abstract: A method and system for eliminating long distance charge by answering incoming call through local number pick up employs a mobile phone equipped with application client which intercepts call attempt and traverses (anchors the call) telephony server of provider that serves destination subscribers. Such anchoring can be achieved by variety of techniques including (but not limited to) using local access numbers or dedicated customer's DIDs, calls through VOIP, iNum or by using ENUM. Telephony server will send notifications to destination device by using push notification, SMS or another mechanism. This notification will prompt user regarding incoming call and upon user acceptance, call will be placed to local number served by provider. Telephony server will connect both parties and as a result call is established without having any additional ‘long distance’ charges involved. All call establishment steps will be done seamlessly from the prospective of the user.

  • Publication number: 20130170361
Abstract: A method and system for interactive call control for calls and connections created in different communication networks provide a solution of controlling communication connections originated from different terminals and sources such as landline and mobile phones, soft and hardware based SIP phones, Skype, gTalk or similar communication tools by using the same unified user interface. This method and system employ a desktop computer, tablet or even mobile device equipped with cross-platform application client to send call control commands and to monitor the state of controlled connections through encrypted communication channel with the application server. This server will abstract each terminal in unified way and represent it as a standard SIP enabled device which could be controlled remotely from desktop terminal (DT).
