Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for communicating healthcare information of a patient using a handheld device including: establishing communication between the handheld device and a management server, sending identifying information for a user of the handheld device to the management server, if the identifying information is authenticated, establishing at least one secured session with the management server, the at least one secured session enabling a user to at least one of: send a message to a user device, wherein the sent message includes at least one of sender information, recipient information and information pertaining to the patient; or receive a message sent from the user device, wherein the received message includes at least one of sender information, recipient information and information pertaining to the patient; wherein the sent and received messages are viewable on the handheld device only during the at least one secured session.

Abstract: A system and method for managing healthcare in which payers, providers, pharmacists, and/or patients can interact with appropriate aspects of a particular treatment or surveillance plan. Treatment and/or surveillance plans can be designed, created, selected, implemented, tracked, evaluated, modified, improved, expanded, and/or otherwise managed. Outcomes data can be used to update efficacy data, which in turn can influence future treatment and/or surveillance plans. A wide variety of different types of data can influence the functionality of the system. A wide range of technical architectures can be used to achieve the functionality of the system.

Abstract: A medical device for drug delivery is provided which includes a stent structure and a biologically active structure attached to the stent structure. The biologically active structure is comprised of a plurality of layers, including a first layer having a first biologically active compound, such as an anti-proliferative, cytostatic or cytotoxic drug, for delivery at a first target site, such as the vascular tissue; a second layer having a second biologically active compound, such as a growth factor, for delivery into the arterial lumen and capable of promoting engraftment and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells and/or endothelial progenitor cells at a second site of myocardial injury; and a third, middle layer which is substantially or selectively impermeable to both the first and second biologically active compounds.
