  • Patent number: 6811729
Abstract: A process of monolithically forming one-piece reflective pavement marker or delineator, including at least one retro reflective face. The process is based on molding the pavement marker or delineator with means to integrally form cube-corner reflective elements and internal hollow cavity air gaps simultaneously. The pavement marker also provides means to enhance agglutination to the roadway. The open ends of hollow cavities at the marker base can be sealed, thereby maximizing the base area for adhesive wetting parameter. The monolithically formed reflective marker can be made, either from one type of plastic, or from two polymers with varied specifications, said polymer is to be from high impact and abrasion resistance thermoplastics. The integrally formed reflective face provided with means to form cube-corner reflective elements on designated cell like areas within the inside surface of said reflective face. The reflective pavement marker further provided with means to enhance abrasion resistant surface.

Abstract: A continuously formed, low profiled reflective pavement marker comprising a multiple, inclined, low profiled reflective portions, which are integrally connected by horizontally, positioned reflective sheeting. Each raised reflective portion integrally having multiple reflective cube corner elements within two defined inclined reflective faces. Each of the two opposite reflective faces are integrally supported by load carrying structural walls in a multi-directional manner, said load carrying structural walks define cell like areas within each inclined reflective face. • Patent number: 6579036
Abstract: A reflective pavement marker comprises an integrally molded one-piece structural body and at least one reflective plate attachment, said structural body having two opposing planar inclined reflective faces, multiple hollow cavities which are defined by partitioning and load carrying walls with wedge shaped top surfaces, said hollow cavities open within a recessed portion of said reflective faces, two arcuate sides and integrally sealed planar base surface with textures and recessed grooves. The reflective plates are welded within the periphery of said recessed portion that includes wedge shaped top surfaces of the hollow cavity walls. This marker provides to enhance the reflective cell sizes, improved impact resistance and improve resistance to flexural stresses due to automobiles impact forces; this is accomplished by maximizing the base surface area for adhesive wetting parameter. The body can be made of various recycled or virgin structural plastics with high impact resistance and UV stability.

  • Publication number: 20030016997
Abstract: A reflective pavement marker can be fabricated utilizing a typically used housing (shell) reinforced by agglutination of a one-piece, monolithically formed, hollowed structural body. The hollowed structural body is having a sealed, textured base surface and an upper, two sides and two face surfaces defined by load carrying partition walls forming multiple hollow cavities. This type of hollowed structural body can effectively replace various structural fill systems or any other multi elements structural body used in fabricating a reflective pavement marker. The hollowed structural body is generally welded or agglutinated directly to the interior of a housing (shell), and to portion of the apexes of the cube corner reflective elements within said reflective faces of a housing. This type of hollow structural body can be formed to fit any single piece housing fabricated with integrally molded retro-reflective faces.

  • Patent number: 6505994
Abstract: Disclosed a method of integrally forming a temporary roadway delineator, a chip seal marker or barrier delineator. This method includes integrally forming multiple cube comer reflective elements on at least one side or both sides of the vertically extending reflective face portion of a delineator. Protective raised barrier walls can also be integrally provided on both sides of the vertically extended reflective face portion. The monolithically formed delineator, in accordance to this invention, can be fabricated in either one or two stage injection molding process, thereby integrally providing either one or two structural or color zones. Pressure sensitive adhesive can be applied to the base surface of a delineator or temporary marker for direct application to a roadway or to a barrier surface.
