  • Publication number: 20100086145
Abstract: A thin loudspeaker system has at least one contoured passive radiator enclosure outside the main unit, connected with at least one loudspeaker enclosure inside the main unit through at least one transmission line. The transmission line cross-sectional shape may be a circular, rounded rectangular, ovular, elliptical or any other suitable shape. With this method the diaphragm size of the contoured passive radiator may be as large as possible, without changing the thickness of main unit. The larger-sized passive radiator diaphragm may increase the air movement and as a result may increase sound pressure level (SPL) at low frequencies. This system may reduce the thickness of audio video equipment significantly and may be useful for producing deeper bass at low frequencies with less distortion, for thin equipment such as LCD TVs, plasma TVs, thin audio hi-fi system, car loudspeaker system, and other similar systems.

  • Patent number: 7676054
Abstract: A passive radiator has an arcuate contour that follows the contour of a surface where the passive radiator can be mounted. The component may be for example a television set, audio component, high fidelity loudspeaker, home theatre loudspeaker, or subwoofer. The arcuate contour of the passive radiator may be convex, parabolic, hyperbolic, or a combination thereof. Furthermore, the contour of the surface may be cylindrical, spherical or another contour depending on the surface contour of the enclosure where it is mounted. The passive radiator rim shape may be circular, rounded, rectangular, ovular, elliptical or any other suitable shape. A contoured passive radiator of relatively large size can be mounted on a relatively small TV set to produce a better bass sound.

  • Publication number: 20080008346
Abstract: A 4? steradian omni directional tweeter has a closed hollow body acting as a dynamic reflector connected at the center topside of a diaphragm. A piezoelectric element or a voice coil drives the diaphragm. The closed hollow body can be sphere, spheroid, prolate spheroid, ellipse, ellipsoid, prolate ellipsoid, cylindrical, oblate shape, egg shape. In one embodiment, the closed hollow body is made of substance that has a light, rigid, seamless and uniform thickness similar to a bird or chicken egg. The dynamic reflector in the present invention moves simultaneously with its diaphragm to produce an omni directional radiation pattern. Compared with a static reflection system, the dynamic reflection system provides better phase response. Hence the reproduced sound is more realistic, has better precision, clarity and staging.

  • Publication number: 20070098209
Abstract: An integrated multi yoke and loudspeaker system incorporating the yoke for providing a path for the magnetic field of each driver, resulting in higher magnetic field strength and thus a higher sound pressure level. The loudspeaker incorporating the yoke takes a smaller loudspeaker enclosure volume and has a wider sound dispersion. The yoke is configured to provide a common partition for all the drivers to which it is connected.

  • Publication number: 20070058830
Abstract: A passive radiator has an arcuate contour that follows the contour of the surface where the passive radiator is mounted. The component may be a television set, audio component, high fidelity loudspeaker, home theater loudspeaker, subwoofer, etc. The arcuate contour of the passive radiator may be convex, parabolic, hyperbolic, or a combination thereof. Furthermore, the convex surface may be cylindrical, spherical or another contour depending on surface contour of the enclosure where it is mounted. The passive radiator rim shape may be circular, rounded rectangular, ovular, elliptical or any other suitable shape. A contoured passive radiator of relatively large size can be mounted on a relatively small TV set, for example a contoured passive radiator equivalent to 8? diameter for a small television set of 14?, thus producing a better bass sound. The contoured passive radiator has wider sound directivity, hence reducing the irregularity of the SPL of the bass sound.

  • Patent number: 7177676
Abstract: A biofeedback system and method for analyzing the performance of an individual and group. The system employs a plurality of transducers for transmitting biofeedback and brain wave information as well as other biological information such as heart rate, pulse, body temperature, etc. This information is individually analyzed relative to the following neurotechnology (Neutech) formula: fbhwd˜2(3?N)×f? Where: N=˜0˜1˜2˜3˜4˜5˜ In one embodiment, a plurality of transmitters are provided for receiving biofeedback and brain waves and other information unique to the specific user. This data is then collected and transmitted and the data processed with subsequent demonstration of process data in the form of biofeedback information.

  • Publication number: 20070030995
Abstract: A natural hair leather diaphragm for a loudspeaker. The acoustic impedance of the natural hair leather diaphragm is lower than several existing loudspeaker diaphragms and closer to the acoustic impedance of air. As a result, there is improved energy transfer from the loudspeaker to yield higher sound pressure level (SPL). The natural hair leather diaphragm is tough which prevents deformation caused by mechanical pressure and is thus not easily torn.

  • Patent number: 6338395
Abstract: A damping material for use in a loudspeaker enclosure to enhance sonic properties of the enclosure. The material for use in the enclosure is kapok, a fibrous material with a relatively low density. By incorporating the kapok within the enclosure, either standing alone or in combination with other materials known to function as acoustic dampers, the overall result is that the sonic quality of the speaker system is increased and may also be reduced in size without sonic compromise.
