  • Patent number: 12071806
Abstract: An exemplary modular hold-open device is configured for use with a door closer comprising a body, a pinion rotatably mounted to the body, and an armature connected with the pinion. The modular hold-open device is configured to be mounted to the door closer, to selectively prevent rotation of the pinion by exerting on the pinion a resistive torque in a door-opening direction, and to cease exerting the resistive torque in response to a door-closing torque on the pinion exceeding a threshold torque to thereby permit rotation of the pinion in the door-closing direction.

  • Publication number: 20240275770
Abstract: A system for transitioning an interaction session initiated within a metaverse to a real-world environment to complete the interaction session comprises a metaverse server in communication with an entity server. The metaverse server receives an interaction request from an avatar to initiate an interaction session with an entity within a virtual environment. The metaverse server generates an instruction token for a user instruction and a session identifier for the interaction session. The metaverse server obtains a user identity token from the entity and authorizes the avatar to interact with the entity. The metaverse server conducts the first interaction between the avatar and the entity and generates a first interaction token for the first interaction. The entity server validates the user identity token and the first interaction token from the user device in the real-world environment. The entity server conducts a second interaction with the user to complete the interaction session.

  • Publication number: 20240256768
Abstract: A method including extracting queries from historical search query data. The method also can include spellchecking each of the queries (i) using a first spellcheck model and (ii) using a second spellcheck model. A latency of the first spellcheck model is lower than a latency of the second spellcheck model, and an overall accuracy of the second spellcheck model is higher than an overall accuracy of the first spellcheck model. The method additionally can include determining first queries of the queries in which, for each of the first queries, a first respective spellcheck output from the first spellcheck model is different from a second respective spellcheck output from the second spellcheck model. The method further can include adding at least a portion of the first queries to a spellcheck cache for runtime spellchecking. Other embodiments are described.

  • Publication number: 20240249389
Abstract: A method (1300) and system (201) for generating an astro-lapse video on a user device is disclosed. Initially, at least one current frame comprising one or more stars, is captured via the user device. Further, region(s) with a degree of exposure and focus greater or less than a predefined threshold are determined and a set of subsequent frames including the stars are captured. The exposure and focus of region(s) in the subsequent frames is corrected during the capturing based on degree of exposure and focus of the region(s) within the current frame. Further, fusion weights of the current and subsequent frames are determined based on one or more cloud categories and associated cloud density scores. Finally, an astro-lapse video is generated by fusing the at least one current frame and the set of subsequent frames based on the determined fusion weights.

  • Patent number: 12043992
Abstract: A data collection device and method for determining a backflow condition in a water distribution system. The data collection device receives a first data communication from a first node, the first data communication indicating a first possible backflow condition at the first node. The data collection device receives additional data communications from one or more second nodes, the additional data communications indicating backflow conditions at the second nodes. The data collection device aggregates and analyzes the first data value and the additional data values and determines that an actual backflow condition exists based on the aggregated data values and a known relationship between the first node and the second nodes. The data collection device may then perform action(s) in response to determining the backflow condition, such as reporting the backflow condition, requesting updated reporting from the nodes, closing appropriate valves, initiating pumps to increase water pressure, flushing the system, etc.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for enabling a multi-user extended reality (XR) experience. In one illustrative example, a user device can receive, associated with a user from a host device, a message comprising a prompt to join an XR room hosted by the host device. The user device can connect to the host device based on the message. The user device can can obtain images of a three-dimensional (3D) scene of a physical environment and can transmit the images to the host device. The user device can receive synthetic content from the host device. A virtual representation of the user can be localized with respect to the XR room based on features in the images matched with features of the 3D scene of the physical environment. The user device can render the synthetic content for the XR room based on a pose of the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20240231970
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media for a service manger to manage services on a wearable device are disclosed. The service manager remains active in memory and listens for requests for services. The service manager then determines which services to run and which to stop to respond to the requests for services. After running a service, the service manager calls the service to respond to the request and sends a response to the request to the sender of the request. The service manager may be resident on a different processor than a processor from which the requests for services originate. The service manager maintains priorities of the services to determine which services to stop or remove from memory.
