  • Patent number: 10115016
Abstract: A system and method having a number of technological elements, one of which being a controller, which causes improvements to the controller and creates significantly more than the original default controller functionality. The elements collaborating to cause the controller to operate a camera to record images of a visual content; store the recorded images to a memory, the recorded images being in a digital form as digital images; perform a visual recognition module to identify at least one targeted object within at least one digital image; produce the identification results of the visual recognition module; compare the identification results to the vehicle-reservation information; generate reservation information derived from the comparison outcome of the identification results to the vehicle-reservation information; and operate the display to exhibit the reservation information.

  • Publication number: 20180218613
Abstract: A system to exhibit vehicle information is presented herein. The system includes a data center, vehicle, and sign. The data center includes a memory, long-range transceiver, and server. The memory is configured to have one or more vehicle share records. The long-range transceiver is configured to transmit and receive one or more data transmissions over a long-range communication channel. The server is configured to communicably couple with the memory and long-range transceiver. The server is also configured to operate the long-range transceiver to transmit the vehicle-share records as data transmissions over the long-range communication channel.

  • Patent number: 9998869
Abstract: A method for determining vehicle location via a mobile computing device includes: determining, by an application of the mobile computing device, a first signal strength corresponding to a communications component of a vehicle and a first mobile device location corresponding to the first signal strength; detecting, by the application, a signal drop event corresponding to a loss of the signal corresponding to the communications component of the vehicle; determining, by the application, in response to detecting the signal drop event, the first mobile device location corresponding to the first signal strength as the vehicle location based on the first mobile device location being the most recent location at which a recorded signal strength was at a highest level; and providing, by the application, a notification indicating the vehicle location to a user of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9867050
Abstract: A system and method of regulating access to a short-range wireless communications network using an ultrasonic audible signal includes: receiving a handheld wireless device identifier at a short-range wireless network from a handheld wireless device that is within a communication range of the short-range wireless network; determining that the handheld wireless device is authorized to access the short-range wireless network using the handheld wireless device identifier; and broadcasting an audio signal at an ultrasonic frequency through an audio system, wherein the audio signal includes information used by the handheld wireless device for authentication to the short-range wireless communications network in response.

  • Publication number: 20170225690
Abstract: An example of a system to control an in-vehicle system includes a wearable device, a vehicle communications platform operatively disposed in a vehicle, a control module in communication with the vehicle communications platform, and the in-vehicle system. The wearable device is for recognizing a hand gesture. The vehicle communications platform is for receiving an in-vehicle system request in response to authentication of the hand gesture, and for transmitting the in-vehicle system request to the control module upon receiving the in-vehicle system request. The control module is for transmitting an in-vehicle system command to the in-vehicle system upon receiving the in-vehicle system request from the vehicle communications platform. The in-vehicle system is responsive to the in-vehicle system command from the control module.
