Abstract: In a feedpipe of a container for refilling a photographic developing tank with a developer radial discharge holes are provided in the region of a valve mounted at the lower end of the feedpipe extended outwardly of the container. The developer liquid is discharged into the valve and then into the tank through these radial holes. To prevent overflowing of the liquid through these holes meshed elements are inserted into the radial holes.

Abstract: A drying arrangement for strips or sheets of photosensitive material includes a pair of infrared heating rods which are located on opposite sides and extend transversely of the path of travel of the photosensitive material. A parabolic reflector is associated with each of the heating rods and serves to direct radiant energy from the same onto the photosensitive material. The heating rods lie at the focal points of the respective parabolic reflectors. Each of the reflectors has a symmetry plane which is inclined with reference to the path of the photosensitive material in such a manner that the line of intersection of the symmetry plane and the path is situated downstream of the location where a perpendicular from the focal point of the reflector to the path intersects the latter. By virtue of this arrangement, more radiant energy is directed to the upstream portion of the drying arrangement than to the downstream portion thereof. As a result, a thermal gradient exists in the drying arrangement.

Abstract: A conveying arrangement in a developing apparatus for photographic material has pairs of conveying rollers as well as guiding and/or deflecting sheets which extend between two opposite sidewalls. Fastening elements are provided on both sidewalls and are adapted to hold the ends of a guiding and/or deflecting sheet against movement in all directions except for an unlocking direction. A removable, deformable locking element is further provided and is adapted to prevent movement of the sheets in the unlocking direction. The fastening element for a guiding and/or deflecting sheet includes a cutout in each of the sidewalls and a positioning pin in at least one of the cutouts. The positioning pin cooperates with an opening in the corresponding guiding and/or deflecting sheet.

Abstract: A processing bath is accommodated in a container having a pipe which communicates with the interior of the container at two different locations of the latter. The bath is circulated through this pipe and a pump for circulation of the bath is provided in the pipe. Several tubes extend into the bath and each tube has an outlet opening in the region of the inlet end of the circulation pipe. The outlet openings of the tubes are all located at different levels below the surface of the bath. The tubes are respectively connected with supply pumps which, in turn, are connected with respective sources of concentrates and a diluent required to maintain the strength of the bath within predetermined limits. A sensor senses the amount of material processed in the bath and causes the supply pumps to pump the concentrates and diluent into the bath in dependence upon the amount of material processed.

Pivotable guide members are provided at a copying station where the web is exposed to printing light and at a feeding station where the web can form one or more loops in a suitable magazine when the respective pivotable guide member is moved to its inoperative position.

Abstract: A photographic printer wherein a web of photographic paper is being withdrawn by advancing rolls stepwise from a supply reel and is fed toward a copying station where successive increments of the web are exposed to light during intervals of idleness of the advancing rolls. The copying station is followed by a loop former for the web, by two normally spaced-apart rollers which are located at the opposite sides of the path for the web, and by a motor-driven flangeless takeup reel. One of the rollers is coupled to a hysteresis brake and the other roller can be propelled toward the one roller by an electromagnet which is energized when the motor for the take-up reel is arrested whereby the rollers pinch the web with a force which prevents any slippage of the web. The motor is started and stopped when the size of the loop respectively reaches a preselected maximum and a preselected minimum value.

Abstract: Apparatus for collecting webs of photographic paper issuing from a photographic copying machine has a magazine which is attachable to the copying machine and contains a wheel having a slotted periphery for introduction of the leader of a web by way of a channel defined by a guide which is pivotably mounted in the magazine. The channel extends radially of the wheel during introduction of the leader so that the latter can enter the interior of the wheel. The wheel is thereupon driven to convolute the web about it periphery and to automatically propel the guide to a position in which the channel is tangential to the wheel. The guide is then intercepted and held against pivotal movement in a direction to locate the channel radially of the wheel, and the guide has a roller which rests on the outermost convolution of the roll of paper which accumulates on the wheel.
