  • Patent number: 6601490
Abstract: A process for forming small stacks from an initial stack of sheet material by cutting includes providing a single guillotine cutter machine which comprises a rear table part for receiving the material to be cut and a front table part for receiving the cut material, separating the initial stack into partial stacks by a plurality of cuts in a first direction perpendicular to a direction of feed thereof, and pushing back and rotating 90° at least a portion of the partial stacks from the front table part onto the rear table part for further cutting. The process also includes installing a first movable guide plate above the front table part, placing the partial stacks such that the partial stacks abut the guide plate, and cutting the partial stacks to produce small stacks.

  • Publication number: 20020148335
Abstract: A guillotine cutter machine for cutting stacked sheet material includes a table for receiving the material. A rear table part receives the material to be cut, and a front table part receives the cut material. The two table parts can be moved apart in order to form a gap. A first movable guide plate can be disposed in the region of the front table part. A second movable guide plate can be brought into its operating position after the gap has opened so that a transverse channel for the cut material is formed between the two guide plates. The cut material can be fed to a further processing station by an ejector which can move along the transverse channel.

  • Patent number: 6132348
Abstract: A method of adjusting a blade (12) in its lowermost position while replacing a used one in a machine for cutting paper, cardboard, and similar stock. The blade is loosely attached to a blade holder that travels up and down. The blade can be loosened from the holder and raised and lowered therein. With the blade holder down, the blade can be adjusted by lowering it against at least one support (19 or 20) at the level of the stock being cut.The backing strip is removed from the stock-positioning board. The support is advanced out of a disengaged position and into an engaged, blade-adjustment, position. The blade holder, accommodating the blade loose in its raised position, is lowered into its lowermost position. The blade is lowered onto the support in its engaged position and secured tight to the blade holder in that position. The blade holder is raised. The support is returned into its disengaged position. The backing strip is replaced in the stock-positioning board.

  • Patent number: 5740710
Abstract: Device for cutting sheets of material, with a counter (12) for the material to rest on, a blade to cut the material, and a holdfast (11) that can be lowered onto the material by a mechanism (10) and raised off it by a spring (6). When the spring in such a device breaks, the holdfast can drop and injure the operator. The object is to prevent such injuries. An interceptor (7, 8, & 9) accordingly brakes the holdfast when the spring that raises it is broken.
