  • Patent number: 4924997
Abstract: Below a series of processing units as bending and assembling tools a guide rail (12) for a plurality of carriers (20) for work pieces (18) is arranged. The guide rail (12) has a longitudinal bottom slot through which equally spaced dogs (36) of a conveying rail (34) can engage with the carriers (20). The conveying rail (34) is repeatedly moved along a rectangle path including a working stroke with the dogs (36) in working engagement with the carriers (20) and including a return stroke by-passing that carriers (20). Clamping devices (62) clamp the carriers (20) in their working positions at the guide rail (12) during the rectangle path of the conveying rail (34) excluding the working stroke. Work pieces (18) of different shape and size can be conveyed through a processing and assembling machine without requiring modifications of the conveying system.

  • Patent number: 4643018
Abstract: In an automatic bending machine, a box-like housing is provided in which a central driving wheel is mounted for reciprocating a plurality of slide units fastened at the front wall of the housing. The front wall is a front plate which together with the slide units can be easily removed from the housing and replaced by another one the slide units of which having been set up before at another place. A plurality of interchangeable front plates can be set up with slide units and tools. Each of the front plates is provided for a work piece of predetermined form. The front plates not in use can easily be stored for a repeated use.

  • Patent number: 4457160
Abstract: In an automatic punching and bending machine the interspace between the bending device and the punching device is adjustable in order to make the interspace as small as possible and to adjust that interspace in dependence on the length of the working piece of a band material, thereby gaining the advantages that series of different work pieces of high precision can be produced in the same machine. The bending device is removable and can easily be replaced by another one which has been reset in a preceding working process. Therefore standstill periods of the machine are reduced.

  • Patent number: 4386516
Abstract: In an automatic bending machine, a plurality of bending tools are arranged around a central working station. Each bending tool is fastened at a slide unit which is operated for reciprocating motion by a driving device. All driving devices are provided with a driving shaft respectively and all driving shafts are in gear engagement with a common central wheel. Each driving device comprises a sealed housing filled with oil and the driving shaft is a crankshaft co-operating with a reciprocating slide via a connecting rod. The slide consists of a pair of slide pieces connected with one another by a lost motion arrangement, the stroke of which can be adjusted from the outside of the housing. The driving device can be used in high speed machines making for example 8,000 strokes per minute and more.

  • Patent number: 4364281
Abstract: In a punching and bending machine the driving mechanism 10 for a reciprocating a tool slide 50 comprises a pair of cam plate and push rod arrangements 20, 38 and 22, 58 one for the working stroke and the other for the return stroke. They move in an oil filling contained in a hermetically sealed housing 28. The contacting ends of the push rods 38, 58 are provided with carbide tippings 46, 60 and the peripheral surfaces of the cam plates 20, 22 are hardened or nickel-plated. The driving mechanism can be used in high speed machines making at least 2000 strokes per minute.
