  • Patent number: 5039074
Abstract: Machine tool fixture for clamping a workpiece characterized by jaw members nested in an overlapped relation with jaw closing cam surfaces in laterally spaced relation defining a slot in which is positioned a complemental cam section of a cam plunger moving on an axis normal to the axis of jaw movement. In one embodiment the plunger and jaws have a second set of complemental cam surfaces to open the jaws; in a second embodiment, springs are used to open the jaws at a corresponding limit position of the cam plunger.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 1991
Date of Patent: August 13, 1991
Inventors: Adolph V. Klancnik, Kenneth A. Klancnik
  • Patent number: 4645092
Abstract: Small workpieces are loaded into a pair of detenting (spring-biased) jaws along a loading station center line by a reciprocal feed finger. The jaws are shifted to a work station center line, where tooling is applied, by advancing one jaw toward the other. The jaws are shifted back to the loading station center line where the workpiece is ejected from the jaws concurrently with the loading of the next workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4637524
Abstract: Coacting, self-centering jaw members in a machine tool which machines small, cylindrical lightweight workpieces; coaction and self-centering is achieved by an equalizer arm actuated by a slide; the slide also actuates one jaw member while the equalizer applies an equal force to the other jaw member; a spring bias applied to each jaw member speeds production.

  • Patent number: 4402642
Abstract: Bar stock is fed to the chuck of a machine tool by a ball chain having a rigid pusher at the end engagable with the bar stock, the ball chain being advanced by a wheel having pockets for the ball chain.

  • Patent number: 4379415
Abstract: An automatic turret lathe in which sequences are manually programmed for automatic control (both turret and cross slide) as an incident to setting up the machine, requiring neither tape nor card programs but rather the manual effort of the machinist; the lathe also incorporates a unique clutch and bearing support for the rotary turret, and the turret has a positive lock for accurately holding the index position; all essential functions and modes including feed rates and r.p.m. are visually displayed.

  • Patent number: 4171820
Abstract: A collet assembly in which actuation is resisted by a spring washer sandwiched between two wear rings, in which the collet sleeve may be pre-tensioned by a conveniently located nut and in which end thrust is adsorbed by needle bearings.
