  • Publication number: 20190083269
Abstract: An acetabular prosthesis is described that includes a shell having an outer surface and an inner surface, the outer surface defining an external shape. There is at least one through bore extending from the outer surface of the shell to the inner surface of the shell. At least one augment is configured to be positioned at least partially within the at least one through bore of the shell such that, in an assembled state, the shell and the at least one augment define a modified external shape.

  • Patent number: 8398646
Abstract: An orthopedic device for preparing a knee joint for a prosthesis in a patient includes a femoral alignment guide. The femoral alignment guide has a patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface preoperatively configured from medical image scans of the knee joint of the patient to nestingly conform and mate and match only in one position to a corresponding three-dimensional femoral surface of a joint surface of the patient. The femoral alignment guide has a first guiding aperture corresponding to a distal portion of the femoral surface and a second guiding aperture corresponding to an anterior portion of the femoral surface.

  • Patent number: 8092465
Abstract: A method of preparing a joint for a prosthesis in a patient. The method includes obtaining scan data associated with the joint of the patient, preparing a three-dimensional image of the joint based on the scan data, preparing an interactive initial surgical plan based on the scan data, sending the surgical plan to a surgeon, receiving a finalized surgical plan from the surgeon, and preparing an image of a patient-specific alignment guide.

  • Patent number: 5330534
Abstract: A knee joint prosthesis having independently interchangeable components. The knee joint prosthesis includes a femoral component having a first bearing surface defined at least in part by a first radius in the coronal plane. The femoral component further includes a second bearing surface defined at least in part by a second radius in the coronal plane, the second radius being displaced from the first radius. The distance between the center of the first radius to the center of the second radius is substantially constant and does not depend on the size of the femoral component. The knee joint prosthesis further includes a tibial component which is operable to engage the femoral component.
