Abstract: The invention relates to the use of a physiologically acceptable organic substance for producing a composition which is free of alkali metal salts of metaphosphates and can be used by women as a lubricant during vaginal childbirth. The inventive composition eases and accelerates the childbirth. When mixed with pharmaceutical active ingredients, said composition can also, for example, prevent infection and relieve pain.
