  • Patent number: 5023510
Abstract: The invention relates to a deflection unit (4) of a picture tube, the deflection unit (4) comprising a coil holder (5) and a cylindrical connection member (6) with elastic tongues. The cylindrical connection member (6) is flexibly connected to the coil holder by means of connection members (14) so that in a simple way the coil holder is tiltable around two mutually perpendicular axes which are each perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (12) of the coil holder (5).

  • Patent number: 4922167
Abstract: Picture display device having a display tube (3) and a deflection unit (9) comprising a field deflection coil and a line deflection coil (11). To comply with a predetermined interference radiation standard, the picture display device comprises a first set of (horizontal) interference suppression coils 18, 19 arranged symmetrically relative to the plane of symmetry of the line deflection coil and a second set of (vertical) interference suppression coils 18a, 19a arranged at right angles to the plane of symmetry of the line deflection coil, which coils are oriented in such manner and in operation are energizable in such manner that, measured at a predetermined distance from the picture display device, at least the strength of the local magnetic dipole field is below a desired standard. Each coil of the second set preferably comprises at least two sub-coils arranged parallel to each other at a given distance in order to reduce the energy content of the coil system.

  • Patent number: 4823460
Abstract: A pair of saddle-shaped deflection coils are wound in a jig and are then assembled with other components. During winding the coil an electrically insulating support having electrically conductive connection points for the coil terminators is used, the terminators being connected to the connection points after winding.

  • Patent number: 4819323
Abstract: An electro-magnetic deflection coil with a flangeless narrow end is wound against the inside of a funnel-shaped support 14. The support 14 opposite the windows of the coil parts 19 has recesses 25 through which axially extending guide elements 26, 27 are passed inwards during the winding process in order to support the circumferentially extending turn segments of the coil parts 19 on the rear side. After winding, each coil part 19 is formed to a coherent unit by means of a thermal treatment and the guide elements 26, 27 are removed.

  • Patent number: 4612524
Abstract: The deflection coil system (7) comprises a synthetic resin support (9) which on its outside is surrounded by an annular ferromagnetic core (19) having toroidal deflection coils (21). On the rear portion (11) of the support (9) outwardly directed resilient members (23) which extend approximately perpendicularly to the axis (25) of the support are formed having on their forwardly directed side a face (27) which is inclined with respect to said axis. The faces (27) engage the rear side of the core (19) so that each member (23) on the core on the one hand exerts a radially outwardly directed force (29) centering the core with respect to the axis (25) and on the other hand an axially forwardly directed force (31) urging the core against an abutment (33) on the front of the support (9). Separate components for positioning the core (9) are hence not necessary. If desired the core (19) after assembly may be permanently connected to the support (9) by means of a few drops of adhesive (35).

  • Patent number: 4484166
Abstract: A hollow coil support for an electromagnetic deflection unit adapted to surround a part of a cathode-ray tube, the inside of the support carrying a deflection coil wound directly thereon, the support at each of its respective ends having a slotted annular member with groups of turns longitudinally extending from the slots in one annular member to the slots in the other annular member, and means provided between the ends of the support for locally supporting the longitudinal group of turns such that they are free from engagement with the inner surface of the support.

  • Patent number: 4431940
Abstract: In a television deflection device which is mounted on a color cathode ray tube, a frustoconical supporting member (3) has a pair of coil halves (6) and (7) which form horizontal deflection coils halves. These coils have longitudinal portions (11, 12, 14 and 15) which extend to the front and the rear of the supporting member (3), an elongate tapered spacer (17) and (18) being inserted in the spaces between adjacent longitudinal portions of these coils. Movements of the spacers (17) and (18) adjust the space between the longitudinal portions which provides mechanical means for correcting for asymmetries in the display device.

  • Patent number: RE30133
Abstract: Before mounting, coils heads comprising clearly defined faces and edges are formed on deflection coils by moulding. The sides of the flared portion of the coils are also clearly defined by the same operation. After mounting, the coil bears in the coil holder by way of the faces and edges formed. The sides of the flared portion abut against projections formed on the coil holder. The flared portion is completely clear from the coil holder.
