  • Publication number: 20220131284
Abstract: An electrical connection element for a form-fitted or welding attachment to a sheet metal part and for receiving a cable connection device is characterized by a metallic ring that surrounds a contact region and that closely contacts the contact region by means of a permanent ring stress produced in the ring. The ring has an outer surface that forms a contact surface for the cable connection device.

  • Publication number: 20200391921
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods and articles of manufacture (e.g., flexible bags) that extend the shelf life of packaged food products, such as wine, that are susceptible to oxidation. Oxygen transport into the product (e.g., wine) through the flexible-bag walls reduces the shelf life of the product. Similarly, oxygen in air trapped in headspace of a flexible bag packaged with the food product (e.g., wine) eventually dissolves or permeates into the product, and can reduce shelf life and the quality of the product. This disclosure relates flexible bags that provide inert gas cavities around the food product (e.g., wine) and in the headspace above the food product, and the process of making such flexible bags, such that the total oxygen content inside an unfilled (with product) flexible bag is less than 10%.

  • Publication number: 20200230928
Abstract: This invention relates to flexible polymeric films, pouches or bags made from such flexible films, and such pouches comprising products therein. The flexible films and the pouches of the present invention, surprisingly, manifest not only high flex-crack resistance, but also a reduced oxygen transmission rate, even when exposed to varying levels of relative humidity, including relative humidity above 90%. Furthermore, this invention also relates to pouches comprising products that have improved shelf life owing to a minimal penetration of oxygen while having been exposed to high humidity.

  • Patent number: 10598203
Abstract: A functional element having a section that has a flange, that projects away from a side of the flange, and is adapted for an aperture-free punching into a sheet metal part and having a shaft part that projects away from a side of the flange opposite the first side, that satisfies a function and that is provided with a longitudinal axis. The flange and the section are arranged at least substantially coaxially to the shaft part. The section is formed as a hollow cylinder that has notches extending in parallel with the longitudinal direction at at least one of its outer jacket surface and its inner jacket surface. The section has a diverging frustoconical shape that runs out at least substantially at the free end at the inner side of the section in the region of its free end and that serves for the widening of the section on the punching in the sheet metal part. A component assembly and a method of producing the latter is also claimed.

  • Patent number: 9157464
Abstract: A functional element having a head part with a flange and a section projecting away from a first side of the flange which is punching into a sheet metal part without piercing the sheet metal part and also having a shaft part with a longitudinal axis which satisfies a function and which projects away from the side from the flange opposite to the first side. The flange and the section are arranged at least substantially coaxial to the shaft part, with the section, which is formed as a hollow cylinder having ribs extending parallel to the longitudinal direction at its outer jacket surface. At the inner side the section has a diverging truncated cone shape which substantially runs out at the free end, with the truncated cone shape serving for the dilation of the section during punching into the sheet metal part. A component assembly and a method of manufacturing it are also claimed.

  • Patent number: 6031065
Abstract: A method is disclosed of producing a copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate. The method comprises esterifying a combination of a diester of naphthalene, terephthalic acid, and ethylene glycol to produce an esterification reaction mixture that includes the alcohol byproduct of the naphthalene diester, distilling the reaction mixture to remove at least a portion of the esterification byproducts from the reaction mixture in the form of a vapor stream of which the majority component is water vapor and which includes the alcohol byproduct of the naphthalate ester in the vapor state, and combusting at least a portion of the vapor stream under conditions sufficient to decompose at least a portion of the alcohol byproduct present in the vapor stream.

  • Patent number: 5817910
Abstract: A process for destroying dioxane in a water vapor stream includes combusting the stream to decompose dioxane contained therein. The process is particularly useful for removal of dioxane from byproducts streams which result during the production of polyester.
