  • Patent number: 6363744
Abstract: A process is described for separating the heavier hydrocarbons from a gaseous hydrocarbon feed wherein a first separator is employed to separate partially condensed gaseous feed and wherein the vapour portion undergoes work expansion and is fed to a fractionation column. The liquid portion is subcooled in heat exchange with the overhead vapour from the fractionation column, expanded, evaporated to provide refrigeration at a low temperature level, and fed to the fractionation column. The rewarmed residual vapour is subsequently compressed to a pressure suitable for export, with a portion of the compressed gas being cooled, condensed and recycled back to reflux the top section of the fractionation column. Also described is a process wherein a first separator is employed to separate partially condensed gaseous feed and wherein the vapour portion undergoes work expansion and is fed to a high pressure wash column. The liquid portion is expanded and fed to the base of the high pressure wash column.

  • Patent number: 6343781
Abstract: A gas spring for a steerable vehicle wheel includes bellows that are supported at one end on a roll-off surface on a wheel carrier, a suspension element, or a part connected therewith, and are fastened at another end on a spring can. The spring can has an inlet opening to which a pressure hose or a pipe is connected. The pressure hose or pipe is arranged in a loop at least in an area above the bottom of the spring can and, during rotating movements of the spring can, is elastically deformed at least in that area.

  • Patent number: 6232383
Abstract: The present invention is a shielding material that resists both nuclear radiation and high temperatures and is especially suited to encasing radioactive waster materials to immobilize them. The material is a mixture comprised of two or more organic polymers in which included fillers are cross-linked within the phenylic side chains of the polymers and copolymers. Other fillers provide radioactive shielding and may be merely included within the cross-linked matrix. The material contains a tough matrix with embedded particles of radiation shielding substances and thermoconductive materials with an overall ceramic-like or ceramometallic properties. The material is thermosetting and can present an extremely hard material—e.g., 20,000 p.s.i. shear strength. The material is comprised of a mixture of vulcanized rubber and/or rubber-like polymers, various radiation shielding inclusions, polyimide resin and phenolformaldehyde resin.

  • Patent number: 4112832
Abstract: Stanchions are supported vertically aligned and each carries a vertically adjustable clamp which carries two rollers which support the weight of a rotisserie spit. One clamp has a bracket which supports a clockwork motor. The motor is connected to the spit by a universal joint to compensate for non-parallel alignment of stanchions or non-level clamps. The motor has a rotatable first spool having a winding key, a pawl to permit winding, a shaft connected to the universal joint, and the first gear of a train. A second spool is rotatably mounted in the motor. A constant torque Negator spring is fixed to the first spool and is unwound therefrom onto the second spool. At the end of the train is a pinion having triangular teeth. A reciprocable escapement plate is driven by the end pinion to control the first spool shaft for constant speed, constant torque rotation of the spit.
