    Abstract: An implantable medical device for implantation in a recipient's body, the implantable medical device including first and second elongate leads electrically connected to first and second device components of the implantable medical device, respectively. The implantable medical device further includes a conductor connector electrically connecting a distal end of the first lead to a distal end of the second lead, and an impervious encasement insulating the conductor connector. The impervious encasement includes a sleeve circumferentially surrounding and spaced from the conductor connector and an insulative material filling the space between the conductor connector and the sleeve.
