  • Patent number: 11832079
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an audio system is provided. At least one controller is programmed to encode a first and second audio component and to generate a first and a second encoded audio component. The at least one controller is programmed to apply a first gain to at least one of the first encoded audio component and the second encoded audio component to generate at least one of a first and second increased encoded audio component and to decode the at least one of the first and the second increased encoded audio component to generate at least one of a first and second decoded audio component. The at least one controller is further programmed to amplitude pan the at least one of the first and the second decoded audio component to increase a stereo width for an audio output transmitted by a first loudspeaker and a second loudspeaker.

  • Patent number: 11670319
Abstract: Techniques for regenerating reverberation include generating a reverberation signal based on a source signal and a response of a listening space, generating a compressed reverberation signal by increasing output levels of a first portion of the reverberation signal having output levels below a threshold level more than output levels of a second portion of the reverberation signal having output levels above the threshold level, and combining the compressed reverberation signal with the source signal to form an output signal for the listening space.

  • Publication number: 20230134271
Abstract: A method for audio processing, the method comprising: determining at least one input audio object that includes an input audio object signal and an input audio object location, wherein the input audio object location includes a distance and a direction relative to a listener location; depending on the distance, applying a delay, a gain, and/or a spectral modification to the input audio object signal to produce a first dry signal; depending on the direction, panning the first dry signal to the locations of a plurality of speakers around the listener location to produce a second dry signal; depending on one or more predetermined room characteristics, generating an artificial reverberation signal from the input audio object signal; mixing the second dry signal and the artificial reverberation signal to produce a multichannel audio signal; and outputting each channel of the multichannel audio signal by one of the plurality of speakers.

  • Publication number: 20230078170
Abstract: A method comprises outputting at least one test signal to a listening environment via a loudspeaker, receiving each of the at least one test signal via a microphone arranged in the listening environment, determining at least one of a position and an orientation of the microphone in the listening environment with respect to the loudspeaker at the time of receipt of each of the at least one test signal, evaluating the test signals received by the microphone, and determining at least one aspect related to at least one transfer function based on the evaluation of the test signal and on at least one of the position and the orientation of the microphone.
