Abstract: The present invention relates to a container for storing veterinary preparations and administering veterinary preparations contained therein to a target animal species, especially for the oral delivery of active therapeutic agents to free-roaming animals. Described is also a bait for animals comprising at least one container surrounded by an encasement or a carrier, made from material having a texture that is at least soft or bendable or elastic or resilient at ambient temperature and wherein the container surrounded by the carrier is also made from material having a texture that is at least soft or bendable or elastic or resilient at ambient temperature. The bait contains in the carrier and/or on the surface of the container at least one additive enhancing the cohesion of carrier and container.
