  • Patent number: 11952453
Abstract: Described and claimed herein are radiation curable compositions for coating an optical fiber, particularly primary coating compositions, wherein the composition possesses specified liquid glass transition temperatures, and/or viscosity ratios between, e.g., 25° C. and 85° C. Such compositions possess preferably high amounts of a reactive oligomer component with a backbone not derived from polypropylene glycol, preferably reactive oligomers with select diisocyanate constituents, one or more reactive diluent monomers, a photoinitiator, and optionally, one or more additives. Such compositions also are preferably sufficiently viscous at room temperature to ensure optimum optical fiber coating processability. Also described are methods of coating the radiation curable compositions elsewhere described, and the fiber optic coatings resulting therefrom.

  • Patent number: 11578221
Abstract: Described herein are methods and compositions for forming three-dimensional objects via material jetting processes, the methods including the repeated steps of selectively depositing a liquid thermoset material onto a surface from a nozzle of at least one jetting head in a first specified direction and exposing at least a portion of the liquid thermoset material to a source of actinic radiation in order to form a three-dimensional object from the cured thermoset material, wherein the jetting head is configured to eject droplets of the liquid thermoset material from the nozzle at prescribed elevated operating temperatures, and wherein the liquid thermoset material is chosen so as to possessing prescribed viscosity and rheological characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11256028
Abstract: Described herein are coated optical fibers including an optical fiber portion, wherein the optical fiber portion includes a glass core and cladding section that is configured to possesses certain mode-field diameters and effective areas, and a coating portion including a primary and secondary coating, wherein the primary coating is the cured product of a composition that possesses specified liquid glass transition temperatures, such as below ?82° C., and/or a viscosity ratios, such as between 25° C. and 85° C., of less than 13.9. Also described are radiation curable coating compositions possessing reduced thermal sensitivity, methods of coating such radiation curable coating compositions to form coated optical fibers, and optical fiber cables comprising the coated optical fibers and/or radiation curable coating compositions elsewhere described.

  • Publication number: 20220048244
Abstract: The present invention is directed to polyester powders suitable for use in 3D printing processes, methods of using such polyester powders in 3D printing processes, and processes for the manufacturing thereof. The polyester powders prepared in accordance with the present invention are easily recycled after such polyester powders have been subjected to 3D printing conditions. In addition, the present invention is directed to recycling processes that recondition waste polyester powders into polyester powders suitable for 3D printing.
