  • Patent number: 5408158
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube comprises a color selection electrode which is secured to a frame and a magnetic screening cap. The frame has two diaphragm portions one of which is located near the color selection electrode and the other is further removed from the color selection electrode. The distance between the electron beams deflected towards the outermost apertures of the color selection electrode and the further removed diaphragm is at least 1 cm. By virtue thereof, the negative influence of the frame on the screening effect of the magnetic screening cap is substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 5363010
Abstract: A color display tube is described of the 3-in-line type having a display screen with a stripe-shaped phosphor pattern. The display tube has an internal magnetic shield with a scanning aperture at its gun-sided end for electron beams produced by the electron gun and scanning the display screen. This scanning aperture extends into the short side walls of the shield in a pair of diametrically extreme points at each side to form an oversized scanning aperture with two, and the aperture has a ratio from 1.5 to 1.75 standardized in accordance with the aspect ratio between the long central axis and the short central axis.

  • Patent number: 4794360
Abstract: An inductive device comprising a ferromagnetic core which has two approximately U-shaped core halves (9, 11) connected together with their limbs (9', 11'; 9", 11") facing each other so that they enclose a core window (17). Each core half (9, 11) is constructed substantially from a packet of mutually parallel strips of an amorphous ferromagnetic material. Filling members (21', 21") consisting of a solid non-ferromagnetic material are placed between the free ends of each pair of facing limbs (9', 11'; 9", 11"), and in the space (23', 23") between the ends the filling members extend from the core window (17) in the outward direction over at most half of the width of the core limbs. A decrease of the magnetic permeability of the core material as a result of decreasing temperature is compensated by a decrease of the width of the air gaps (23', 23") between the free ends of the limbs (9', 11'; 9", 11").

  • Patent number: 4753822
Abstract: The invention relates to a metal ribbon and a method of manufacturing same, in which a layer or track of magnesium oxide is provided on the metal ribbon by decomposition of magnesium alcoholate which is provided by means of a dosing system which is sealed from the air. A sinusoidal information track of magnesium oxide is preferably used. A layer of silicon oxide to be manufactured by thermal decomposition of a liquid silicon compound may be used instead of magnesium oxide.A magnet core which is formed by winding the metal ribbon succeeded by impregnation with epoxy resin is particularly suitable for use at high frequency because interlaminar eddy currents are suppressed.

  • Patent number: 4739294
Abstract: A device having a core that comprises a bar-shaped leg (1) of amorphous ferromagnetic metal which is surrounded by a coil (7), and a yoke (3) which magnetically interconects the end portions of the leg and which is made of ferrite. The cross-sectional area of the yoke (3) is at least twice as large as that of the leg (1). This construction combines the advantages of the low core losses of amorphous metal and a low cost price.

  • Patent number: 4291676
Abstract: A solar collector comprises a tube containing an evaporable heat transport medium and having an evaporation zone and a condensation zone arranged during operation at a level higher than that of the evaporation zone. A plurality of pieces of a liquid-absorbing material is provided in the evaporation zone in a row extending in the axial direction of the tube in order to accumulate returning condensate, adjacent pieces being spaced from each other. These pieces are mounted on a shaft that maintains the same in contact with the inner surface of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4288993
Abstract: A refrigerator comprises a primary refrigerating system and a secondary refrigerating system in heat-exchanging contact with each other. The secondary refrigerating system is connected to a reservoir containing a control gas getter which can be heated to vary the amount of free control gas in the secondary refrigerating system and thereby to control the temperature of the secondary refrigerating system. The reservoir includes an initially breakable seal for aiding in assembling the reservoir to the secondary refrigerating system.
