  • Publication number: 20080213129
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for systems and methods for disinfecting of components of an HVAC system. At least one non-linear UV light source is positioned within the HVAC system. A non-linear UV light source can include but is not limited to a spherical bulb lamp or a circular lamp. Non-linear UV light sources are positioned about desired HVAC components to deliver UV light to the surface of those components thereby preventing unwanted biological growth. A plurality of non-linear light sources can be positioned throughout the HVAC system including about a heating or cooling coil apparatus, an air moving apparatus such as a fan positioned within an air duct and/or within the air duct to disinfect air flow passing through the air duct.

  • Patent number: 7276853
Abstract: Low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp has an at least partly substantially cylindrical discharge vessel (10) with a length Ldv and with an internal diameter Din. The discharge vessel (10) encloses, in a gastight manner, a discharge space (13) provided with a inert gas mixture and with mercury. The discharge vessel (10) comprises discharge means (electrodes 20a; 20b) for maintaining a discharge in the discharge space (13). According to the invention, the ratio of the weight of mercury mHg in the discharge vessel (10) to the product of the internal diameterDin and the length of the discharge vessel Ldv is given by the relation: wherein C (0.01 (g/mm2. Preferably, 0.0005 (C(0.005(g/mm2. Preferably, the discharge vessel (10) contains less than 0.1 mg mercury. The discharge lamp according to the invention operates under unsaturated mercury conditions.

  • Patent number: 6690869
Abstract: Cd-free multicomponent glass to be used in particular as core glass (2) in glass fibers for optical twisters and tapers, the glass being of the lanthanide flint type and comprising the following main constituents (in mol %): B2O3 20-70 ZnO  1-15 Lanthanide oxide  1-23 ZrO2, and/or HfO2  1-10 As2O3 0.1-0.3.

  • Patent number: 6630787
Abstract: A low-pressure mercury-vapor discharge lamp is provided with a discharge vessel and a first and a second end portion (12a). The discharge vessel encloses a discharge space provided with a filling of mercury and an inert gas in a gastight manner. Each end portion (12a) supports an electrode (20a) arranged in the discharge space. An electrode shield (22a) encompasses the electrodes (20a) and, according to the invention, carries an electric current during operation, and is at a temperature ≧250° C., preferably ≧450° C., during nominal operation of the discharge lamp. Preferably, a first current supply conductor (30a) electrically contacts a first current divider (23a), which is electrically connected to a second current divider (23a′) via a shell-shaped body (24a).

  • Publication number: 20030085655
Abstract: Low-pressure mercury discharge lamp (1) comprising an at least partly substantially cylindrical discharge vessel (3) having a diameter D, wherein two electrodes are present near respective ends of said discharge vessel (3), which discharge vessel (3) is filled with a mixture of inert gasses having a pressure P and which discharge vessel (3) contains an amount of mercury, wherein D×P is at least 5.2 mPa. The invention is based on the novel understanding that a higher filling pressure of the inert gas mixture causes a lower mercury consumption in the lamp (1).
