  • Publication number: 20130190624
Abstract: A method for displaying an ultrasound image on a display device is provided. Image signals are generated with an ultrasound probe during examination of an item under examination with ultrasound and are transferred to a data processing device. The image signals are displayed by the data processing device as an ultrasound image on a display device. In order to make it easier for an operator to observe the ultrasound image, by means of an orientation detection device, a change in orientation of the display device in space is detected and an associated change in orientation signal is provided to the data processing device and the orientation of the ultrasound image on the display device is changed by the data processing device as a function of the change in orientation of the display device in space. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130172914
Abstract: A surgical clip is provided, having two clip arms and a resiliently flexible element pivotally connecting the two clip arms together. The two clip arms each have a first free end, which are held in parallel to and in contact with each other with a predetermined closing force by the flexible element in a rest position. At a second end opposite the free end, the clip arms are held connected to a wall section of the flexible element that is arranged substantially transverse to the longitudinal direction of the clip arms, extends between the second ends of the clip arms and has a first wall portion facing towards the clip arms and a second wall portion facing away from the clip arms. The flexible element is made from a plastics material by injection moulding. The first wall portion is produced with a greater shrinkage than the second wall portion.

  • Publication number: 20130165909
Abstract: An instrument includes a motor unit with a slide or piston. The operating direction of the slide or piston may be adapted to the bending and stretching movement of the user's index finger. A resiliently elastic extension or tongue transfers the bending and stretching movement of the index finger to the slide or piston on the side of the motor unit. The tongue is fixedly coupled to the slide or piston and extends above the handpiece along a gripping portion. The resilient flexibility of the tongue is selected so that it can be easily bent by the index finger resting on the tongue toward the gripping portion of the handpiece, which then serves as a contact or stop element for an operating element at the tongue and thus ensures fixed clamping of the handpiece between the thumb, the middle finger and the index finger.

  • Publication number: 20130150854
Abstract: A gas operated surgical instrument is provided. The instrument includes a pressurized gas connection for connection to a source of pressurized gas, a working piston adapted to be acted upon by a pressurized gas, an actuating element for actuating the instrument, and a regulating device coupled to the actuating element and to the working piston for regulating a feed force of the working piston. The regulating device is configured such that, for feed forces below a predetermined limit force, it defines a first work area in which the working piston is movable in the distal direction solely owing to a feed force applied with the actuating element, and that above the limit force the regulating device defines a second work area in which the working piston is movable in the distal direction by being acted upon by pressurized gas.
