Publication number: 20170060885Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for implementing an event based retention schedule for a read only file. When a regular file is to be converted to an event based retention read only file, an “event-retain” property may be enabled on the file allowing the feature to be implemented. Then, that file may have its permissions changed to read only. This will allow the file to be changed to a read only file without using a default retention time. Then, once the event is triggered, the retention time may be set so the file can be scheduled for automatic deletion.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2015Publication date: March 2, 2017Applicant: NETAPP, INC.Inventors: Akshatha GANGADHARAIAH, BALAMURUGAN RAMAJEYAM, Raman MADAAN, SUBHASH A. Publication number: 20160310492Abstract: The present invention is related to the novel discovery that HIF-2?, but not HIF-1?, selectively regulates adenosine A2A receptor in endothelial cells, thereby revealing a unique and hitherto unknown pathway by which HIF-2? can regulate angiogenesis independent of HIF-1?. This discovery allows for design of new diagnostic tools and novel therapies targeted against angiogenesis-associated diseases, such as cancer. In another aspect, the present invention shows that A2A receptor expression is a marker of the developing lung, and can be used as a marker of lung diseases, such as pulmonary hypertension.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2015Publication date: October 27, 2016Inventors: Aftab Ahmad, Carl W. Patent number: 8869627Abstract: The multi-phase flow metering system facilitates the measurement of the flow of oil, gas, and/or other materials from one or more producing petroleum wells. The system has an expansion chamber to separate liquid and as phases. The gas rises through a pipe extending from the top of the expansion chamber. Liquids flow from the bottom of the expansion chamber through a generally U-shaped line having a sediment trap therein. Separate metering devices are provided in the gas outflow line and in the liquid line for accurately measuring the flow of each phase, and in the inlet line for measuring temperature, pressure, and flow at that point. The system includes float valves at the inlet to the gas outflow line and at the liquid phase outlet to control flow through the system. The gas outflow line may continue as a separate line, or reconnect to the liquid outflow line.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2012Date of Patent: October 28, 2014Assignee: King Fahd University of Petroleum and MineralsInventors: Luai M. Publication number: 20140216998Abstract: The dewatering system for oil storage tanks includes a dewatering pipe or line extending from the bottom of the oil tank, and a recirculation or return line teed into the dewatering pipe and extending back to the tank. The return line may include multiple branches to the tank, which permit return flow across the bottom of the tank to flush scale, sediment, and/or other residue from the bottom of the tank. A sensitive oil/water sensor is installed at the tee. When a minute fraction of oil is detected in the water, a valve downstream of the tee and sensor is automatically closed to return the oil and water mix back to the tank before any oil can leave the system. The system may include a timer mechanism to operate the recirculation system automatically on a periodic basis.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2013Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: KING FAHD UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND MINERALSInventors: LUAI M. Publication number: 20140142884Abstract: The system for measuring thermal conductance includes first and second thermally insulated housing portions. A cooler is in communication with an interior of the first housing portion for selectively cooling the interior to a desired cool temperature. Similarly, a heater is in communication with an interior of the second housing portion for selectively heating the interior to a desired heated temperature. A test sample is retained within the second housing such that the test sample releasably and removably covers an aperture in communication with the interior of the first housing. Upon reaching thermal steady state, the temperatures Tc , TH of cooled and heated surfaces of the test sample are both measured. A heat flux transducer, releasably mounted on the cooled surface of the test sample, measures heat flux q through the test sample. The thermal conductance U of the test sample may then be calculated as U = q T H - T C .Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2012Publication date: May 22, 2014Applicant: KING FAHD UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND MINERALSInventors: AFTAB AHMAD, LUAI M. Patent number: 7176549Abstract: A shallow trench isolation is disclosed wherein the trench depth is reduced beyond that achieved in prior art processes. The reduced trench depth helps to eliminate the formation of voids during the trench refill process and provides for greater planarity in the final isolation structure. Effective device isolation is achieved with a reduced trench depth by utilizing refilling dielectric materials having low dielectric constant.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2004Date of Patent: February 13, 2007Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventors: Klaus F. Schuegraf, Aftab Ahmad

Publication number: 20060231902Abstract: Isolation structures having trenches formed on both sides of a LOCOS structure are disclosed. A semiconductor structure pad oxide layer is enlarged by local oxidation of silicon to form a field oxide. An etchback causes the thinnest portions of the field oxide to recede, such that a portion of the semiconductor substrate is exposed. An etch, through the exposed portion of the semiconductor substrate, forms a microtrench between the field oxide and the nitride layer with a lateral dimension that is less than that currently achievable by conventional photolithography. In another embodiment, formation of the microtrench is carried out as set forth above, but the nitride layer is immediately removed following trench formation. Alternatively, the pad oxide layer is stripped and a new oxide layer is regrown that substantially covers all exposed surfaces of active areas of the semiconductor substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2006Publication date: October 19, 2006Inventors: Fernando Gonzalez, Mike Violette, Nanseng Jeng, Aftab Ahmad, Klaus Schuegraf

Patent number: 7071067Abstract: A process is provided for forming an isolating nitride film to isolate gate polysilicon of a gate structure. Specifically, the process comprises providing a channel region defined by a source and drain region of a semiconductor substrate having a gate structure comprising an isolating oxide layer positioned on the channel region and the polysilicon layer positioned on the oxide layer. More specifically, the process comprises the steps of forming the nitrogen implanted regions over the semiconductor substrate by implanting nitrogen atoms into those regions and growing spacers from exposed portions of the polysilicon layer. During the spacer growth, the spacer grows vertically as well as laterally extending under the polysilicon edges. Diffusion of nitrogen atoms to the substrate surface forms silicon nitride under the gate edges, which minimizes current leakages into gate polysilicon.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1999Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Aftab Ahmad

Patent number: 6930363Abstract: A barrier layer comprising silicon mixed with an impurity is disclosed for protection of gate dielectrics in integrated transistors. In particular, the barrier layer comprises silicon incorporating nitrogen. The nitrogen can be incorporated into an upper portion of the gate polysilicon during deposition, or a silicon layer doped with nitrogen after silicon deposition. The layer is of particular utility in conjunction with CVD tungsten silicide straps.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2004Date of Patent: August 16, 2005Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventors: Nanseng Jeng, Aftab Ahmad
