    Abstract: A belt tightening device is provided for open-end spinning machines which is capable of ensuring good belt thrust, eliminating vibrations, and reducing the noise level of the machine. Each bearing box of a belt tightening roll is attached to the end of a pair of flat legs extending in spaced apart relationship to each other along the endless driving belt. The legs are connected to the bearing box either by spring elements, or are formed themselves by leaf springs.

  • Spinning unit of an open-end spinning machine

    Abstract: A spinning unit of an open-end spinning machine comprising a spinning rotor to which separated fibers are supplied to be formed into a yarn which is withdrawn through a take-off duct and wound onto a bobbin. At its inlet end portion, the yarn take-off duct is rounded and embodied as an exchangeable funnel around which the yarn sweeps while it is given a false twist. In accordance with the invention the funnel and the body of the yarn take-off duct constitute a pair of members, the funnel being coupled with the body of said duct by magnetic coupling means so that funnels may readily be changed in accordance with the requirements of various fibrous materials to be processed by the spinning unit.

    Abstract: Open-end spinning unit having two housings connected to each other, a first housing containing a spinning rotor adapted to be supplied through a supply duct with separated fibers carried by an air stream while yarn is withdrawn therefrom through a take-off duct, the second housing containing a sliver supply roller and a combing-out cylinder followed by said fiber supply duct extending through a lid inserted into the spinning rotor and forming a part of said second housing, the spinning rotor being surrounded with an air collecting space adapted to collect the air to be withdrawn from the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor turns about a vertical axis of rotation and is driven by an individual motor through the axis of which the yarn take-off duct extends in an upward direction. The lower front part of the spinning rotor extends into a cavity provided in the top part of said second housing.
