Abstract: Arrangements for transmitting network credentials from a user device to a second device to enable the second device to connect to a network are disclosed. At the user device, a user inputs network credentials for the second device to enable the second device to connect to a network. The user device transmits modulated light to the second device. The light is modulated so that the transmitted light is encoded with the network credentials. The second device has a photo sensor for receiving the modulated light from the user device and a processor for processing the modulated light to obtain the network credentials from the received modulated light.

Abstract: There is provided a method of and apparatus for streaming data. Data segments containing audio and/or video data content are received over a network. The data segments are stored in a buffer. It is determined that the network has capacity to provide the content in the data segments at a higher quality than is currently stored in the buffer prior to playout of the data segments. A higher quality version of content of one or more data segments in the buffer that have the latest relative playout time are requested in preference to requesting a higher quality version of content of data segments that have earlier relative playout times.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for distributing publish-subscribe messages to clients over a network using a message broker. A first client is configured to send a message to the message broker to declare a second client as its successor. The message broker is configured to, when the first client disconnects from the message broker, route to the second client one or more messages that are indicated for delivery to the first client. The second client may then receive and process these messages in place of the first client.

Abstract: A vehicle has wireless power transfer devices at the front and rear of the vehicle. A charging chain of such vehicles is established. Each vehicle in the charging chain acts as one or more of a source in which the vehicle is a source of electrical power for another vehicle in the chain, a sink mode in which the vehicle is a sink of electrical power from another vehicle in the chain, and an intermediary in which the vehicle receives electrical power from one vehicle in the chain and passes the electrical power to another vehicle in the chain.
