Patent number: 11365927Abstract: A cooler with a hinging lid is comprised of a top deck having an opening and a unitary hinging lid to cover the opening; insulated sidewalls; and a bottom that together define an enclosed insulated inner volume for storage of objects. The inner volume can be accessed by opening the hinging lid. The hinging lid can be selectively opened, segment by segment, to access the inner volume while minimizing the exchange of air between the inner volume and the air surrounding the cooler. The hinging lid is comprised of a pull flap tab, an interior layer of reflective insulating material, at least one layer of support insulation material and a waterproof outer surface layer. The support insulation material of the hinging lid is divided into at least two discrete segments comprising a first segment and a second segment and can be articulated as a hinge between the segments.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2020Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignee: The Gem Group, Inc.Inventors: Meredith Winters Giesting, Agnes Csilla Domotor, Richard C. Bellofatto, Jr.

Patent number: 7575137Abstract: This invention provides a combination note pad and credential holder having a neck cord or lanyard that passes through a loop in the notepad to allow the item to be worn about the neck at a desired level, typically at chest height. The notepad can include a back cover that supports a writing pad and a hinged front cover, joined to the back cover and selectively opened to access the writing pad. A small pen can be removably attached to a loop between the covers along a side of the writing pad. The bottom edge of the notepad includes a fastener assembly for removably attaching a credential sleeve with a clear window for displaying the user's credential document(s). The sleeve has an open side that allows the documents to be slid thereinto. The fastener assembly can comprise one or more sets of interengaging snaps, look-and-loop members or a zipper-like structure. When not needed, the sleeve can be removed or flipped into a position behind the back cover, out of view.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: The Gem Group, Inc.Inventors: Joshua B. Lederer, Mark T. Salander, Agnes Csilla Domotor

Patent number: 7055682Abstract: A padfolio having, along at least one cover's interior, a raised, substantially rigid tray structure that defines plurality of compartments with dividing walls therebetween is provided. The surface of the tray structure is covered in a fastener material that removably interengages with an opposing fastener material that is applied to a set of pockets, pouches, electronic devices, pen holders, clocks, calculators and other items. In one embodiment, the fastener material consists of a loop material formed along the tray and a hook material attached to an underside of each of the various attachable items. In this manner, the pockets, pouches or other items can be freely or variably placed anywhere along the loop surface, in any of the compartments, at a wide variety of locations therein. A pen holder for the padfolio or other business accessory is constructed from a flexible material that defines a barrel with a top slot formed between a pair of opposing side walls and a base.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2003Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: The Gem Group, Inc.Inventors: Agnes Csilla Domotor, Joshua B. Lederer, Mark T. Salander

Patent number: 6983688Abstract: A custom decoration for bags, cases, portfolios and other business accessories (the “item”) that can be printed at an appropriate location directly on the otherwise-finished item is provided. The decoration comprises a single or multi-colored ink image transferred from a lithographic plate using a transfer pad. The underlying tag or “substrate” for the decoration is a smooth-surfaced soft polyvinylchloride or rubberized material with appropriate ink-receptive or attractive characteristic—such as a matte or semi-gloss surface finish. The item is placed on a supporting surface in a pad printing device so that the substrate is restrained within a registration jig; an inked image on a plate is contacted with a printing pad and the pad is moved to contact the substrate, thereby applying the custom decoration thereto. In one embodiment, the substrate is secured by cords to a side of the item.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2003Date of Patent: January 10, 2006Assignee: The Gem Group, Inc.Inventors: Frank J. Papa, Agnes Csilla Domotor, Joshua B. Lederer, Maryann Ivers

Patent number: 6935497Abstract: A pouch for a padfolio or other business accessory that encloses a PDA or other electronic device with an extraction or ejection strap having a pull-tab exposed on the top face of the pouch is provided. The pull-tab is connected to an outer free end of the strap, and the strap extends around the bottom of the device within the interior of the pocket. The strap is secured to an opposing bottom face interior of the pouch. When the tab is pulled, the strap engages the bottom of the device and urges the device upwardly out of the opening so that it can be grasped easily at its top end, which now extends from the opening. The top face of the pouch, as well as the side walls, can be sized so that the device is fully enclosed by the pouch for better security. The slot on the top face of the pouch from which the strap and pull-tab extend can be reinforced with a gusset formed from a durable material, such as soft polyvinylchloride (PVC).Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2003Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: The Gem GroupInventors: Agnes Csilla Domotor, Mark T. Patent number: 6920975Abstract: A digital clock mounted within a flap overlying the spine of a notepad on a notepad cover is provided. A raised bezel or surround constructed from a soft, pliable material, such as soft polyvinylchloride (PVC), covers a portion of the clock chip, exposing its digital readout. Detents or holes may be provided for inserting pens or other blunt instruments for setting the clock. A port is provided in the flap to access the underside of the clock chip, and can be covered, along the underside of the flap, with a piece of elastic material. By moving the elastic material aside, access to the battery of the clock chip is provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2003Date of Patent: July 26, 2005Assignee: The Gem GroupInventors: Mark T. Salander, Agnes Csilla Domotor, Joshua B. Lederer

Patent number: 6772879Abstract: A case for a personal digital assistant (PDA) that allows the PDA to be elevated in an angled standing position when the case is opened is provided. In this manner, the PDA is presented to the user in an easily accessed orientation without the need to remove the personal digital system from the case or to attach any separate stand or bracket. In an illustrative embodiment, the case includes a base section and a cover that is attached in a hinged manner to the base section. The cover can be folded back to reveal the enclosed PDA screen and buttons. When the cover is rotated back to a predetermined position, at which the base and cover form an acute angle, a securing strap is attached between the base and the cover preventing the base and cover from spreading apart beyond the pre-determined acute angle.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2002Date of Patent: August 10, 2004Assignee: The Gem Group, Inc.Inventor: Agnes Csilla Domotor
