  • Publication number: 20230341130
Abstract: A radiant burner for a cooking appliance. The radiant heater includes a heating element residing on or in an insulating base, the insulating base having a recess located in a bottom thereof. The insulating base is housed in a casing that has a recess residing in the recess of the insulating base. A part of the casing that forms the recess includes a guide. A temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature inside the radiant burner is supported by an insulating body. A portion of the insulating body is located inside the insulating base and inside the guide formed by the casing with the insulating body extending vertically through the insulating base and the guide.

  • Publication number: 20230232499
Abstract: A control assembly for an oven that includes an actuator configured to select a function of an oven and to generate an electrical signal identifying the function of the oven selected, and a control unit in communication with the actuator configured to receive the electrical signal generated and identify from the electrical signal the function of the oven selected. The control assembly also includes a rotary position switch configured to be positioned in a plurality of discrete positions, one of the discrete positions being a reference position, so that in each of the positions the rotary position switch activates at least one function of the oven and in the reference position the rotary position switch does not activate any function of the oven.

  • Publication number: 20230140673
Abstract: A method for controlling an oven that incudes selecting a function of the oven using an actuator located in or on a control panel of the oven to cause an electrical signal to be generated that identifies a function of the oven. In response to the electrical signal being generated, energizing an electrical motor that is mechanically coupled to a rotary position switch and not mechanically coupled to the actuator. The method including rotating the rotary position switch to a position corresponding to the function of the oven by use of the electric motor after the electrical signal is generated.

  • Publication number: 20220243922
Abstract: A cooking appliance including a cooktop with a heating element, an electromechanical regulating device through which a user determines the power supplied to the heating element, and a residual heat indication assembly configured to warn the user of the presence of a high temperature in the cooktop. The residual heat indication assembly includes an indicator, a counter and an electronics board. The electromechanical regulating device, the indicator and counter being arranged connected directly to the electronics board, such that the electronics board detects an electrical signal flowing from the electromechanical regulating device to the heating element. The counter is configured to determine a duration of time in which the electronics board detects when power is being delivered from the electromechanical regulating device to the heating element.

  • Patent number: 8895903
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling the supply of power to a radiant heater of a cooking hob. According to one implementation a method is provided that includes the use of a control circuit that is configured to deliver power to the radiant heater via first and second electrical paths. One control method includes supplying a first level of power to the radiant heater through a closed disconnection switch situated in the first electrical path while sensing a temperature of the cooking hob. Upon detecting that the temperature has reached or exceeded a predetermined temperature, the control circuit terminates the supply of power to the radiant heater through the first electrical path by opening the disconnection switch and for at least a period of time initiating the supply of a second level of power to the radiant heater through the second electrical path, the second level of power being less than the first level of power and sufficiently low to cause the radiant heater to cool.
