  • Publication number: 20050084561
Abstract: It is applicable to foundry core boxes (4) and has a twofold purpose, on one hand it facilitates the extraction of the mould conformed in the core box and on the other it acts as a distributor in the closed core box of the demoulding agent used to facilitate the extraction of the mould. It consists of an ejector plate (1) which is constituted by two pieces between which a chamber (8) is established from which the demoulding agent is distributed driven from an external system toward some axial holes (9) drilled in some ejectors (3) which are displaced integrally with the ejector plate (1) and are introduced in the closed core box (4) where they distribute only and uniformly the demoulding agent on the walls of its interior cavity (7) the contamination of other surfaces or mechanisms and the pollution of the atmosphere being avoided.

  • Patent number: 6508297
Abstract: Mounted on plate (9), associated to the machine's compacting and ejection piston is pattern plate (10), which incorporates stops (11) restored by springs (12), with an ejection plate (13) placed between said pattern plate (10) and plate (9), aided by guiding elements (14) and complemented by hold down plates (15) which correspond to the holes of the pattern plate. Inside compacting rammer (6) are mounted four ejectors (17) embodied as hydraulic cylinders which, by means of hold down plates (15) attached to ejection plate (13) compact the sand in the holes to then eject the mote. Therefore, the ejection plate has a compacting stroke (Y) prior to the ejection stroke (Z). The machine is thus particularly well suited for efficient moulding of motes having round or otherwise shaped deep holes, without requiring the use of cores.

  • Publication number: 20020129920
Abstract: The method relies on the simultaneous filling of mold (1) from its bottom through main casting gutter (3) and rising of molten metal (2) in a secondary gutter (6) which branches off from the start of casting gutter (3), with said molten metal (2) rising in secondary gutter (6) in the same amount as in mold (1), so that when the latter is full the main casting gutter (3) is sealed and feeding from the secondary gutter (6) continues, causing it to overflow and fill the corresponding feed head (5) provided on top of mold (1), with secondary gutter (6) communicating at the top with said feed head (5) so that once said feed head is full secondary gutter (6) is sealed. In this manner, the most liquid metal will reach the top part of mold (1) and may be fed to it to compensate contraction of the metal as it cools. A further object of the invention is the device (7) which seals the main casting gutter (3) and the secondary gutter (6), with these two sealing devices (7) being identical and independent.

  • Patent number: 6145576
Abstract: The machine has a pressure drum (1) capable of supplying a current of blowing air through the diffuser (2) towards the moulding box (3), and its characteristics are focused on a specific valve system in which a tubular valve body (7), to which the diffuser (2) is in turn solidly attached, is fixed to the mouth of the drum (1) with the assistance of a supporting frame (8), this assembly defining, with a large central core (15), a peripheral passage (16) for the outlet of air in which an inner valve seat (14) is established for a tubular membrane (11) that is fixed through its marginal areas to the marginal areas of the valve body (7), an enveloping chamber (12) being defined outside the same which, upon being pressurised, causes the membrane (11) to be choked against the seat (14) and consequently the valve to be closed. Opening of the valve (11-14) results, through the diffuser (2), in a jet of air which mainly concentrates on the perimetric area of the moulding box (3), improving sand compacting (5).

  • Patent number: 5657813
Abstract: The system has a pivoting frame (1) attached to a core-making machine, including a support (2) fitted with two symmetrically arranged trays (4) having centering elements (6) and clamps (7) to receive and hold two blowing plates, namely a clean plate (19) and a plate to be cleaned (18). The pivoting frame pivots the frame (1), turns the support (2) and travels a blowing head (17) in sequence such that the plate to be cleaned is collected by the support (2) and the clean plate is collected by the blowing head (17).

  • Patent number: 5159867
Abstract: A core collecting tray for a core blowing machine is provided which forms part of a slide which can reciprocally move longitudinally on tracks through sheaves, be lifted by a hydraulic cylinder that acts on a deck and with the assistance of vertical guides. The tray is adapted to cross travel by a further hydraulic cylinder and is fitted with a clipping template which can in turn travel upwards on additional guides and with the assistance of a third hydraulic cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4436141
Abstract: A blowing sand molding machine includes a main frame to the top of which is mounted a hopper for storing sand, which hopper, at a given moment, is vertically aligned with a corresponding blowing cartridge which receives a portion of the sand so that by means of a current of pressurized air blown into the cartridge the sand passes therefrom to master plates fixed to appropriate supports. Longitudinally disposed on the main frame and below the blowing cartirdge, a pair of cylindrical bars acting as guides for the supports of the master plates, the bars or guides extending along the front and rear zones of the machine. The bar of the front zone occupies a substantially lower plane than that occupied by the bar of the rear zone. One master plate support is moved along the guides by means of a manually operated wheel, while the other support is moved along such guides with the help of a pressure cylinder.
