Abstract: A dental material and method for forming, reinforcing or repairing a dental restoration comprising a combination of a high fusing temperature metal component in a major proportion and a low fusing temperature component in a minor proportion. A binder may be added to form a putty-like consistency. The dental material is molded into a predetermined shape and heat treated at a temperature which will substantially melt the low fusing metal components but below the melting temperature of the high fusing metal component for forming a porous, sponge-like mass of interconnected particles of the high fusing temperature metal component. A filler material having a low melting temperature is then added to the porous mass and the mass is again treated to form a solid mass.

Abstract: A method and prosthesis assembly for fabricating a dental bridge to abutment teeth upon which metal retaining members have been mounted comprising suspending a pontic having non rigid arm rests extending from opposite ends thereof between the occlusal surfaces of the metal retaining members, adjusting the position of the arm rests to establish a desired alignment between the pontic and the abutment teeth, spot welding each arm rest to the occlusal surface of each retaining member to form a welded joint and soldering the interproximal space between each retaining member and the pontic. To facilitate the spot welding operation a metal spacer is interposed between the arm rest and the retaining member.

Abstract: A metal dental coping foil for dental restoration, having a high fusing temperature layer composed of a precious metal palladium-gold alloy and at least two precious metal gold layers symmetrically disposed about the palladium-gold layer.

Abstract: A dental crown restoration which comprises a metal coping and a relatively thick outer coating of a ceramic dental veneer. The metal coping is composed of a lamination of a low fusing temperature precious metal component substantially or entirely of gold and a high fusing temperature precious metal component. The high fusing component is formed from three layers with one layer composed of from 90 to 100% palladium bounded on both sides by a gold based layer.

Abstract: The dental restorative structure of the present invention comprises a porcelain superstructure surrounding a metal substructure composed of a framework of relatively thin metal rod-like members. The rod-like members extend gingivally from a relatively crescent shaped member. An additional upright brace extends toward the incisal edge of the restoration and includes an opening for forming a porcelain pocket between the brace and the crescent shaped member.

Abstract: The reinforced jacket crown of the present invention comprises an inner structure including a thin metal foil of platinum conforming in shape to the tooth preparation to be restored, at least one fired on coating of a composition of finely divided particles of from about 1 to 100% by weight of a noble metal halide in combination with from zero to 99% by weight of a noble based metal and a relatively thick fired on outer coating of dental porcelain.
