Abstract: Provided are methods for drying and sterilizing cannabis plant material comprising providing feed cannabis plant material having a water content of M0, wherein M0 is greater than 45%; partially drying the feed cannabis plant material to form a partially dried cannabis plant material having a water content of M1, wherein M1 is in the range of between 12% wt and 40% wt; sterilizing the partially dried cannabis plant material to form sterilized partially dried cannabis plant material having a water content of M3; and when said M3 is less than 8% wt or greater than 16% wt, adjusting said M3 to provide a water content of M2, wherein said M2 is between 8% wt and 16% wt. Abstract: Provided is a method for the manufacture of a butyrate product by fermentation of a carbon source-containing fermentation feedstock with a Clostridia class bacterium which natively produces butyric acid while maintaining a pH of about 5 to 7, wherein ammonia is used for said maintaining pH and whereby a fermentation broth comprising ammonium butyrate, a biomass, and optionally a fermentation by-product is formed; separating said biomass from said fermentation broth to form separated biomass and a clarified fermentation broth, wherein said clarified fermentation broth comprises said ammonium butyrate and optionally said fermentation by-product; and adding to said clarified broth an additive selected from the group consisting of a mineral acid, a mineral base, a soluble calcium salt and combinations thereof, whereby said butyrate product is formed in said clarified broth. Further provided are feed ingredients, animal feeds and anti-icing agents comprising the composition, and uses thereof.

Abstract: Processes for converting lignocellulose to feedstock and downstream products are disclosed. The processes may include acid treatment of lignocellulose to produce a fermentation feedstock. In various instances, the processes include recovery or recycling of acid, such as recovery of hydrochloric acid from concentrated and/or dilute streams. Downstream products may include acrylic acid-based products such as diapers, paper and paper-based products, ethanol, biofuels such as biodiesel and fuel additives, and detergents.
