Abstract: A beverage capsule is provided for use in a beverage preparing machine. The beverage capsule includes a body having a sidewall and a base defining an interior space. A first opening is defined at one end of the body and a second opening is defined at an opposing end of the body. A first cover covers the first opening and a second cover covers the second opening. A filter is disposed in the interior space a pre-determined distance away from the second opening. Ingredients, such as ground coffee beans, are disposed in the interior space between the first opening and the filter for preparing a desired beverage, wherein the ingredients have a statistical arithmetic mean particle size that is greater than 600 microns.

Abstract: A beverage capsule has a body, a filter disposed in the body, ingredients disposed in the filter and a cover. The body includes a side wall that extends from an end wall to an opening that is covered by the cover. A boss extends into the interior space from the end wall inwardly of an extraction region. In one embodiment, the boss defines an engagement surface having a plurality of arms for engaging a bottom portion of the filter during use. In another embodiment, the boss engages the filter to define a tented filter zone wherein an inner portion of the filter is spaced a further distance from the end wall than an outer portion of the filter. Extraction efficiency is improved by using ground roast coffee having an average particle size in the range of from 300 to 800 ?m. Flavor retention is improved by using a filter medium made of a synthetic polymer. The capsule can be used in a process in which optimum extraction is obtained during relatively short brew times.

The mobile node can experience uninterrupted communication across black spots. This is achieved by executing vertical handover before entering a black spot region, which is anticipated by using RF coverage maps and mobility pattern of the mobile node.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for improving friction spot welding process is described herein. According to the method of the present invention, two different metal sheets of similar or dissimilar material can be joined together with the help of a filler material that is filled in a cavity formed at the top of the upper metal sheet. Additionally, either a reinforcement material or an alloy element or combination of both is added in the cavity. The material is plasticized as the filler material is rotated and pushed in the cavity under the application of force. The weld is completed by filling the entire filler material at the weld interface. The addition of reinforcement material or an alloy element enables in customization of interface material properties enhancing the joint strength.

Abstract: Techniques are described for tracking data objects transferred among multiple services in a computing environment. Services that are involved in the transfer of data objects may be instrumented to generate recordings that describe outbound and inbound transfers of data objects. The recordings may be analyzed to identify key-value pairs included in the transferred data objects, where the key corresponds to a data attribute that stores a particular value in a data object. For each pair of keys that are associated with a same or substantially similar value, a correlation metric may be updated for each instance of association. Over time, the correlation metric may indicate a higher degree of correlation for those pairs of keys that frequently share a same value. Pairs of keys exhibiting an above-threshold correlation count may be designated as related in that they are involved in the transfer of data objects.

Abstract: This invention provides new therapeutic potential of nandrolone or a derivative thereof, against protozoal diseases. More specifically, nandrolone or a derivative thereof exhibits anti-protozoal activity against Leishmania major. Anti-protozoal potential of nandrolone derivatives, such as compounds 1-8, can contribute in the development of effective therapies against protozoal diseases, such as leishmaniasis, trypanosomiasis, malaria, toxoplasmosis, babeosis, amoebic dysentery and lambliasis. Abstract: The feasibility of performing hydraulic fracturing can be assessed by analyzing the effect of skin on the overall deliverability of a reservoir. Aspects of the disclosure provide a method to determine equivalent skin in hydraulic fractured system through a semi analytical correlation obtained by numerical modeling. Two 3D models are considered: a base case without fracture and a complex case with fractures. The base case is simulated by varying matrix permeabilities while the fractured model is run with different sets of varying fracture's lengths, widths, and permeability as well as matrix permeabilities. The two cases are comparatively analyzed and skin is determined. A generalized correlation for determination of skin is derived through application of multivariate regression technique on obtained skins and their corresponding variables.
