  • Publication number: 20240137077
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums for determining a beamformer to apply to groups of two or more elements of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). The beamformer is applied to the groups of elements of the RIS to facilitate communications at the operating frequency by re-radiating radio signals via the elements of the RIS. For example, by grouping RIS elements in different manners and applying a beamformer (e.g., precoding weights) to the group as if the group were a single RIS element, the RIS can be reconfigured to behave differently to suit various operating frequencies of the radio signals.

  • Publication number: 20240133991
Abstract: Aspects presented herein may improve the accuracy of uplink-based positioning when at least one network entity participating in the uplink-based positioning is operating under an energy saving mode. In one aspect, a network entity receives information indicative of a set of antenna panel configurations for a plurality of network nodes, where the set of antenna panel configurations is associated with a set of energy saving modes. The network entity transmits an indication of one or more UL-SRS transmission parameters for a UE based on the information indicative of the set of antenna panel configurations for the plurality of network nodes. In some examples, each antenna panel configuration in the set of antenna panel configurations may include a number of antennas to be used in an UL azimuth angle measurement and a number of antennas to be used in an UL elevation angle measurement under one energy saving mode.

  • Patent number: 11968142
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described, including techniques for utilizing implicit or explicit signaling to indicate a cancellation of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) bundling. A first user equipment (UE) may perform DMRS bundling across physical sidelink channels transmitted to a second UE to enable the second UE to perform joint channel estimation. In some examples, based on a detected change, either at the first UE or the second UE, the first UE may signal to the second UE that the DMRS bundling is canceled. In some examples, the detected change may be a resource allocation change, a physical channel configuration change, a change in a quasi-colocation (QCL) relationship at the first UE, or a change in a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state at the first UE. Additionally or alternatively, the first UE or the second UE may request the cancellation based on detected changes.

  • Publication number: 20240129912
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communications device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a control message that indicates at least one transmission configuration to apply for bandwidth part (BWP) switching between multiple BWPs, to apply for component carrier (CC) switching between multiple CCs, or both. The at least one transmission configuration may be associated with a plurality of scheduled transmissions (such as semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) or configured grant (CG) transmissions) associated with a BWP or CC configuration. The UE may then receive a switch command to switch from a first BWP to a second BWP, from a first CC to a second CC, or both. • Publication number: 20240129070
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to determine a retransmission pattern within a slot based on a transport block retransmission selection scheme. In some cases, the UE may be allocated sub-slots within a slot for retransmitting multiple transport blocks, and may determine how to utilize a sub-slot allocated for a retransmission of a transport block that is not to be retransmitted. For example, the UE may transmit a new transport block via an unutilized sub-slot, or may repeat a retransmission of a transport block via the unutilized sub-slot in addition to an allocated sub-slot. Additionally, or alternatively, unutilized sub-slots may be re-allocated to other UEs via signaling from a network entity or coordination between sidelink UEs.

  • Patent number: 11963213
Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods related to mechanisms to implement improved interference tracking over time. A BS may transmit information to a UE that allows the UE to quantize channel measurements into interference states. The UE may transmit an interference change report as triggered by an event, such as an interference metric exceeding a threshold after quantizing into the interference states. This enables the system to capture and respond to abrupt changes. Further, the interference change report may include historic interference information. The UE may include statistics based on the historic interference information. The UE may further be triggered to transmit an interference change report in response to a BS requesting it, or in response to a configured period of time elapsing. The UE may further include MCS information predicted for one or more future time periods based on historic information, which the BS may use in scheduling.

  • Publication number: 20240120963
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may use partial frequency sounding with different frequency subhop patterns so that a portion (which may be referred to as a subhop) of configured sounding reference signal (SRS) resources (e.g., a hop) are sounded. In some cases, a UE may receive a control message from a network entity identifying the frequency subhop pattern. In some cases, the network entity may configure a UE to transmit repetitions of the SRS in a same hop across consecutive symbols to increase a probability that the transmissions are successfully received and decoded by the network entity. As such, the network entity may configure a repetition factor for the frequency subhop pattern. In some cases, the frequency subhop pattern may introduce a frequency overlap between subhops.
