  • Patent number: 11421920
Abstract: A solar-powered two-bed adsorption chiller which can operate after sunset when the solar radiation intensity becomes zero. Rechargeable solar-powered batteries (SPBs) are connected to a flat-plate solar collector (FPSC). The photoelectric charges are directed from FPSC to a solar charge controller (SCC) which acts as a charge amplifier thus magnifying the total charge before it is finally collected inside the SPB for future use. The SPB is in turn connected to a resistance heating wire (RHW) which is immersed inside the HWST.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9480967
Abstract: The metal organic framework adsorbent for solar adsorption refrigeration is a nanocomposite made from a metal organic framework matrix having carbon nanotubes incorporated therein. Preferably, the metal organic framework is composed of MIL-100(Fe), and the carbon nanotubes are functionalized with carboxyl (COOH) groups. In order to prepare the metal organic framework adsorbent, carbon nanotubes functionalized with carboxyl (COOH) groups are first added to an aqueous solution of a precursor salt, such as ferric trinitrate nonahydrate (Fe(NO3)3.9H2O), to form a first mixture. The first mixture is then sonicated and a 1,3,5 benzenetricarboxylic acid ligand is added thereto to form a second mixture. The second mixture is then sonicated and heated, and the metal organic framework nanocomposite is separated therefrom, preferably as a powder.

  • Patent number: 7796689
Abstract: An adaptive filter may include a unitary filter, a combiner, and an error estimator. The unitary filter may include a feedback portion to generate a feedback output and a feed forward portion to generate a feed forward output. The combiner may combine the feedback output and the feed forward output into a combined output. The error estimator may generate an error signal for the unitary filter based on the combined output.

  • Patent number: 6002721
Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating a carrier frequency of an incoming signal. The carrier frequency estimator determines the phase difference between the phases for two successive modulation symbols when the two successive modulation symbols are within a particular magnitude range having at least two evenly spaced modulation phase states. The carrier frequency estimator includes a magnitude selector for selecting modulation symbols within the particular magnitude range and a phase subtractor coupled to the magnitude selector for determining phase differences between the successive modulation symbol phases. A signal receiver of the present invention uses the phase differences for tuning a locally generated frequency for tracking a carrier frequency of an incoming radio frequency (RF) signal.
