  • Patent number: 9796144
Abstract: A device and method for storing tire repair material in or around the wheel barrel of a tire. Also, a device and a method for repairing a compromised tire using tire repair material stored in or around the wheel barrel of a tire. In some embodiments, the means for storing the tire repair material in or around the wheel barrel may comprise non-interconnected bays. Device embodiments may also comprise a tire repair material applying means (for example, means utilizing some form of propulsion and/or spraying). Thus, in some embodiments, the tire repair material may be applied to a compromised section of the inside surface of the tire, originating from the direction of the wheel barrel. In some embodiments, the device may also comprise a means for detecting a compromised tire and the punctured section thereof, as well as a means for signaling commencement of application of the tire repair material.

  • Publication number: 20160075441
Abstract: A device, system, and method for facilitating aerial refueling. The device is a navigable flying unit for more precise positioning to establish a fuel-transmitting connection with a fuel inlet of a fuel-receiving plane (including a fuel inlet located on the wing of a commercial aircraft). The device comprises controllable aerodynamic surfaces for mid-air maneuvering while attached to a fuel-transmitting medium being trailed by a fuel-giving plane. The navigable unit may also comprise a means for, if necessary, moving along a surface of the fuel-receiving plane for more precise positioning, and a means for attaching to the surface of the fuel-receiving plane and/or a fuel port thereof, as well as a means for coupling with the fuel inlet in order to establish a fuel-transmitting connection. The in-air maneuvering of the device and fuel-transmitting medium may be facilitated in one embodiment, by the fuel-transmitting medium comprising aerodynamic surfaces configured for reducing drag.

  • Publication number: 20100039302
Abstract: A device and method for correlation-based background calibration of pipelined converters with a reduced power penalty. A pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC) utilizes a random or pseudorandom signal to reduce the quantization error of subconverting stages. Stages within the ADC comprise an injection circuit having a plurality of capacitive branches in parallel. Less than all of the branches can function during a given clock cycle of the ADC. This allows a subconverting stage within the ADC to be accurately trimmed before operation using a large amplitude signal. At the same time, the capability to inject smaller amplitude random or pseudorandom signals into the subconverting stage during operation is maintained, saving valuable dynamic range and power. The various capacitive branches are cycled through either randomly or in sequence such that the quantizer manifests the same average gain error over time for which the quantizer was initially trimmed.

  • Publication number: 20090273332
Abstract: Reference network embodiments are provided for use in pipelined signal converter systems. The network embodiments are fast and power efficient and they generate low-impedance reference signals through the use of a complimentary common-drain output stage, at least one diode-coupled transistor inserted between transistors of the output stage, and a controller. The controller is configured to provide a backgate voltage to the diode-coupled transistor to thereby establish a substantially-constant output current. The controller is further configured to provide gate voltages to the output stage to establish top and bottom reference voltages about the diode-coupled transistor that are spaced from a common-mode voltage. This reference structure maintains a constant output current as the span between the top and bottom reference voltages is selectively altered. In different embodiments, the diode-coupled transistor is replaced with a bipolar junction transistor.

  • Publication number: 20080131536
Abstract: The method is used to treat diabetic complications such as neuropathy, peripheral neuritis, cataract and retinopathy have shown improvement with flavonoids present in licorice. The improvement was found to be due to the prevention of transformation of glucose to sorbitol by inhibiting aldose reductase enzyme, thus avoiding the accumulation of sorbitol in several tissues including lens, retina, kidney, blood vessels, peripheral nerves and striated muscles. Additionally, licorice prepared by fermentation is rich in amylase which improves diabetic complications due to increase of cellular enzymatic activity. This drug was prepared by fermentation of licorice followed by getting rid of glycerizine using hydrochloric acid and not by boiling for fear of destruction of enzymes and flavonoids.

  • Publication number: 20060202730
Abstract: Clock sources are provided which are especially useful for reducing phase noise in signal samplers that typically provide samples of an analog input signal in signal-conditioning systems such as analog-to-digital converters. This phase noise reduction is realized with the recognition that sampler noise is related to clock jitter by a ratio of the input signal's slew rate to the clock's slew rate. Clock embodiments include a frequency divider and a signal gate. The divider divides a first signal to provide a second signal with a slew rate lowered from the slew rate of the first signal and the gate passes the second signal when commanded by the first signal to thereby generate a clock signal.

  • Patent number: 6077513
Abstract: The method of extracting volatile oils from Commiphora molmol includes the steps of grinding up the Commiphora molmol plant; covering the ground up plant with a layer of water to create a mixture of plant and water; passing steam through the mixture of water and plant; condensing volatile oil from the steam in a condensing chamber; and, separating the layer of oil from the aqueous layer therebeneath. The oil fractions can also be obtained by extracting myrrh powder using petroleum ether; and, evaporating the petroleum ether to obtain the oil fraction. The method of extracting resins from commiphora molmol after volatile oils have been separated therefrom including the steps of treating the myrrh powder with alcohol; evaporating the alcohol extract; precipitating the resin collected; washing the resin; and, drying the resin. Alternatively, the myrrh powder can be treated with myrrh powder with petroleum ether; extracting the ether with methanol; and, evaporating the methanol to obtain a resin fraction.
