  • Publication number: 20180302796
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to SDMA operations across multiple network operating entities are provided. A first wireless communication device transmits a communication indicating a reservation for one or more spatial layers in a transmission opportunity (TXOP) of a shared spectrum. The shared spectrum is shared by a first network operating entity and a second network operating entity. The first wireless communication device is associated with the first network operating entity. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, data over the one or more spatial layers during the TXOP. The second wireless communication device is associated with the first network operating entity.

  • Publication number: 20180255584
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may use a subband of a frequency domain channel as a dedicated channel reservation (CR) sub-channel. Wireless devices may both monitor for and transmit CR signals in the CR subband. When not actively transmitting, a wireless device may monitor the CR subband to identify CR signals from other wireless devices. A wireless device communicating using the CR subband may transmit a CR signal and a pre-grant or pre-grant response simultaneously based on an frequency division multiplexing configuration. Multiple channels may share a CR subband. The CR subband may have a pre-configured frequency domain location or be at a configurable frequency in the channel. The data subband and CR subband may have different levels of synchronization, and base stations operating in the wireless communications system may consider data subband synchronization and CR subband synchronization separately.

  • Publication number: 20180139657
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for fast radio resource management procedures for new radio. Generally, a fixed frame structure is utilized and all base stations are synchronized. A base station may transmit a reservation request during a first control slot for the base station in a reservation channel at a beginning of a synchronized frame. A first user equipment may transmit and the base station may receive a reservation response during a second control slot. The base station may receive, from the first UE, after a third control slot of the reservation channel for a neighboring base station, a reservation indication based on a measurement by the first UE of the neighboring base station or at least one other UE associated with the neighboring base station. The base station may determine, based on the resource indication, whether to schedule the first UE during a data channel of the synchronized frame.

  • Publication number: 20180139782
Abstract: An opportunistic asynchronous operation for coordinated new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) operations is discussed. In a wireless network having at least one contention-based shared channel in which communications are configured having one or more control intervals time division multiplexed with one or more data intervals for transmission opportunities, a base station receives data for communication at a time during a current data interval on a contention-based shared channel. The base station will review its received signals on the contention-based shared channel during the previous control interval located immediately prior to the current data interval. If none of the received signals indicate a contention-resolution of the contention-based shared channel, the base station may begin an attempted transmission by performing an abbreviated clear channel assessment (CCA). If the CCA is detected as clear, the data may be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20180115453
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for use in providing reverse time alignment in a wireless network. For example, the method may include obtaining a first timing value from a serving node and a second timing value from each of one or more non-serving nodes of the UE, computing one or more timing differences between the first timing value and each of one or more second timing values, and reporting the one or more timing differences to the serving node. Additionally, the disclosure describes a method, an apparatus and a computer-readable medium for use in providing time alignment in a consolidated multi-point (CoMP) transmission network by obtaining of a CoMP transmission network timing information from a plurality of user equipments (UEs) and storing the timing information for each of the plurality of UEs for communicating with the first node.

  • Publication number: 20180098225
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to share a shared spectrum with one or more other systems (e.g., other operator networks utilizing the same radio access technology, and/or other networks utilizing different radio access technologies). Coexistence between the different systems on the shared spectrum may be provided by utilizing a technology-neutral signature waveform such as a signature sequence or discovery signal. The signature sequence may be used for resource reservation, scheduling, and coordination among disparate systems operating on a shared spectrum. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Publication number: 20170064657
Abstract: Techniques for synchronization on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point may select, for example, a common sequence, frequency, and time for a first synchronization signal that is coordinated with one or more other access points. The access point may then transmit the first synchronization signal in accordance with the common sequence, frequency, and time. An access terminal may receive, from an access point, a first synchronization signal having a first sequence and a second synchronization signal having a second sequence. The access terminal may then determine an offset in time between the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal, and determine a cell identifier group associated with the access point based on the offset.

  • Publication number: 20170063504
Abstract: Techniques for operator identification on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point may determine an operator identifier for an operator associated with an access point and configure a set of resource elements to carry an operator identifier reference signal embedded with the operator identifier. The access point may then transmit the operator identifier reference signal using the configured set of resource elements. An access terminal may receive signaling from an access point on a set of resource elements and monitor the signaling for an operator identifier reference signal. The access terminal may then determine an operator identifier for an operator associated with the access point based on the operator identifier reference signal.

  • Patent number: 9585156
Abstract: When communications of a single radio access technology (RAT), or different radio access technologies in a proximate communication spectrum are operating at the same time, potential interference between devices may occur. To reduce the interference, the time division duplex (TDD) configuration of one or more conflicting device may be altered. For example, at the edge of a communication region, TDD configurations used by edge base stations to communicate with mobile devices may be set to reduce interference. As another example, communications of a first device may be altered so the first device schedules uplink communications when a second device also has uplink communications scheduled. Other configurations may also be implemented.

  • Publication number: 20170055291
Abstract: Techniques for reservation coordination on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point, for example, may contend for access to a communication medium, and transmit a channel reservation message in accordance with a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) to reserve the communication medium for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration based on the contending. The access point may then transmit, during the reserved TXOP duration, a reservation coordination signal in accordance with a second RAT to convey reservation coordination information associated with the reserved TXOP duration.
