The UE determines a degree of partial beam correspondence of the UE and compares the degree to a threshold amount of partial beam correspondence support of the UE. In response to the comparison, UE selects a number of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources to request from a network node and sends a SRS resource request message to the network node to request the selected number of SRS resources.

    Abstract: An approach is described to for new radio (NR) antenna test function (ATF) measurements by a user equipment (UE). The approach includes measuring a first average phase of receive signals on resource elements that carry secondary synchronization signals (SS) received by a reference individual receiver branch. The approach also includes measuring a second average phase of the receive signals on the resource elements that carry secondary synchronization signals received by one other individual receiver branch different from the reference individual receiver branch. The approach further includes determining a difference between the first average phase and the second average phase. An indication of the difference is reported to test equipment.
