Publication number: 20230031799Abstract: A protective device that protects against nerve compression and injury during medical procedures. The device includes an elongated body having a base, and a retention flap and a closure flap joined to the base. The device further includes a closure operable to join the closure flap to the retention flap. The closure may be provided as adhesive field, magnets, a living hinge, or matable structures, such as teeth/sockets, snaps, etc., or tape, strings, sutures or other external elements may be used for joining the flaps. The body may be pretensioned to remain open, or to urge the body to assume a closed configuration. The body may be formed of foam or other flexible/compressible material so as to readily bend and conform to the body and to act to enclose and organize/confine wires/lines used in a medical procedure, and to act as a cushion between such wires/lines and the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Boris Aronzon, Michael Furr, Christopher Scholl, Aidan Hyde, Ray Czerwinski

Patent number: 11504462Abstract: A cardiopulmonary bypass system is described that includes a cardiopulmonary bypass machine having a console, the console has a base and a frame connected to the base. The system further comprises a plurality of peripheral modules operatively connectable to the cardiopulmonary bypass machine via one or more cables. The system further comprises a cable chase having a first end and a second end, and a housing that extends at least partially between the first end and second end to at least partially enclose a channel for receiving one or more cables or conduits connected to one or more of the peripheral modules.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2016Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: Maquet Cardiopulmonary GmbHInventors: Aidan Hyde, Robert Hoff, Daniel Medart, Daniel A. Publication number: 20220357710Abstract: A personal injury mitigation device for sensing a fall condition and responsively deploying a protective device in bathrooms or other elevated-risk spatial environments. A fall sensing system of the device includes a sensor and an analysis module that processes a signal from the sensor to determine whether a fall condition exists, and if so, transmits a trigger signal to a deployment system. The deployment system includes a stored energy system and an actuation system operable to release stored energy in response to receipt of the trigger signal. An impact mitigation device receives the released energy from the deployment system, which causes deployment of a protective device (such as an airbag) from a housing in which the protective device is stored in a compact state. In the deployed state, the protective device is operable to protect a person against injury due to impact resulting from a fall.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2022Publication date: November 10, 2022Inventors: Barbara Wadsworth, George C. Prendergast, Barbara Merle Gilmore, Aidan Hyde, Andrew Mazzotta, Dylan Paproski, Christopher Scholl
