    Abstract: A camera controller establishes a desired shooting range as the direction of a camera is changed. Coordinate data on a pseudo subject-plane representing a subject-plane virtually covering a plurality of subjects to be shot by the camera are stored. The direction of the camera is indicated by a cursor or the like on the image displayed on a display unit. Coordinates of an intersection point of a straight line extending from the camera in the instructed direction with the pseudo subject-plane stored in the memory are determined, and the distance between the camera and the intersection point is calculated.
