  • Patent number: 10475690
Abstract: A system is disclosed for calibrating the compressive forces exerted on a component during a component retrieval process from a carrier or support surface by a component handling device. The system includes a sensor, a component pickup assembly having a reference structure, a housing and a spring guide holder coupled to a suction tip. A resilient member may reside within the housing and the reference structure such that the spring guide holder and the housing are spaced from each other to define a variable first gap thereinbetween. A gate is formed by the reference structure and a sheath located on the housing whereby the reference structure is spaced from the housing to define a variable second gap thereinbetween. A detection structure is located within the variable second gap such that the sensor is able to detect portions of the detection structure.

  • Publication number: 20180230553
Abstract: Methods for predicting palm oil yield of a test oil palm plant are disclosed. The methods comprise determining, from a sample of a test oil palm plant of a population, at least a first SNP genotype, corresponding to a first SNP marker, located in a first candidate gene region for a high-oil-production trait and associated, after stratification and kinship correction, with the high-oil-production trait with a p-value <0.001 in the population or having a linkage disequilibrium r2 value of at least 0.2 with respect to a first other SNP marker that is linked thereto and associated, after stratification and kinship correction, with the high-oil-production trait a p-value <0.001 in the population. The methods also comprise comparing the first SNP genotype to a corresponding first reference SNP genotype and predicting palm oil yield of the test plant based on extent of matching of the SNP genotypes.

  • Publication number: 20060294599
Abstract: There is provided apparatus comprising a user interface for displaying a plurality of items. The apparatus is arranged: a) to receive at least one instruction, by which instruction or instructions, one or more of a plurality of items initially displayed on the user interface is or are categorized as an item or items to be hidden and the remaining one or more of the plurality of items initially displayed on the user interface is or are categorized as an item or items to be displayed; b) to receive an instruction to hide, from the user interface, the one or more items to be hidden; and c) to hide from the user interface, the one or more items to be hidden, such that the item or items categorized as items to be displayed are displayed on the user interface, and the item or items categorized as items to be hidden are not displayed on the user interface. In one preferred arrangement, the apparatus is an electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20060242599
Abstract: There is provided a method for finding a particular item from a listing of items sorted by category, on a user interface. The user interface comprises a first portion showing the sorted listing of items and a second portion showing a listing of categories by which the items are sorted. The method comprises moving a visual marker through the listing of categories on the second portion of the user interface, those items in a given category showing on the first portion of the user interface at the same time as the visual marker passes over the given category on the second portion of the user interface; and moving the visual marker to the first portion of the user interface; and finding the particular item on the first portion of the user interface. There is also provided a user interface for finding a particular item from a listing of items sorted by category and an electronic device comprising such a user interface.
