  • Patent number: 5818410
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes an image information storage memory and a controller for controlling the image information storage memory. The storage memory stores first graphic event data in accordance with a demand for displaying from a pointing device at a certain cycle and stores graphic event data in accordance with a demand for displaying a scrolling in a window on a display panel. When display requests of the first graphic event data and the second graphic event data occur simultaneously, and when no change is caused in data relating to position from the pointing device, storage of the second graphic event data into the memory is allowed and storage of the first graphic event data is performed. The image information controlled by the controller is displayed on a display panel.

  • Patent number: 5784043
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes an image data storage memory for storing image data including periodically supplied image data having a first graphic event and image data having a second graphic event. The image data storage memory is controlled to store image data having the first graphic event preferentially while inhibiting the storage of image data having the second graphic event based on prescribed display priority levels allocating a higher display priority to the first graphic event than to the second graphic event. The inhibition of the storage of image data having the second graphic event is released when first graphic event data transferred periodically is transferred to stop and display a first graphic display position.

  • Patent number: 5677706
Abstract: A display device having plural scanning electrodes and plural information electrodes crossing the scanning electrodes. The scanning electrodes are scanned in a skipping manner during a first routine to refresh the display, scanned in a nonskipping manner during a second routine in response to a scroll display of a portion of the display, and scanned in a nonskipping manner during a third routine in response to a change in position of a pointing device. The first routine is executed before the second routine is executed and the third routine interrupts the second routine when the second and third routines occur simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5657042
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a controller for controlling an image data storage memory so that received image data is stored in the image data storage memory and a controller for controlling the image data storage memory so that the memory is inhibited from storing image data during a period for partial rewriting scanning of a display panel. The apparatus serially receives from the image data storage memory and transfers to a drive controller scanning line address data for selecting a scanning line and display data for controlling display data signals applied to data lines associated with the selected scanning line.

  • Patent number: 5646646
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a data storage memory for storing image data including scroll display data and cursor display data for displaying a cursor at a position according to information from a pointing device. The apparatus is capable of judging a position of the cursor display data when, during storage of the scroll display data in the memory, a demand occurs for interrupting the storage of the scroll display data to store the position displaying the cursor, as to whether or not the position displaying the cursor at the time of the interruption is within a region in the image data storage memory where the storage of the scroll display data has been completed.

  • Patent number: 5574476
Abstract: A data processing apparatus with a receiver for receiving image data having a plurality of graphic events. A controller for controlling an image data storage memory so that the received image data is stored in the memory in the order of from a higher display priority level of the graphic events based on prescribed display priority levels of the graphics events. The controller controlling the image data storage memory so image data having a lower priority stored in the memory is outputted from the memory to a display drive controller until image data having the higher priority is started to be stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 5408247
Abstract: An information processing apparatus uses an information memory for storing image information and first and second controllers for controlling the storage of image information associated with a generated graphics event into the memory based on a display request from a pointing device. In addition, image information for one frame of the display is stored into the image information memory by a first storer, and image information for a window display is stored into the image information memory by a second storer.

  • Patent number: 5345250
Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes a controller for controlling an image information storage memory. The controller controls the storage memory so that received image information is stored in the image information storage memory as scanning line address information and display information, with the scanning line address information designating scanning lines of a display device which accesses different areas in the image information storage memory. The controller also controls the storage memory so that the scanning line address information and the display information stored in different areas are serially transferred to a drive control in the display device, and so that the scanning address information which is transferred to the drive control accesses the designated scanning lines only.

  • Patent number: 5321811
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus, transfer scan line addresses are monitored within a graphic microprocessor partial update routine to continuously transfer image information of addresses of the same scan line when a two-line simultaneous drive waveform is used to increase a frame frequency. The information processing system includes an image information memory for storing received image information a first control for controlling driving of a display memory, and a second control for controlling the image information memory so that storage of the image information in the image information memory and transfer of the image information stored in the memory to a drive control circuit are synchronized with each other.
