    Abstract: A coating material is provided. The coating material includes a thermoset polymer having at least one functionalized carbon-based filler. The carbon-based filler can be at least one of a carbon nanotube filler, a graphene nano-platelet filler, and a graphene oxide filler. The coating material can be used to coat the surface of elements, such as the inner surfaces of fluid transportation conduits, to protect the elements from erosion, abrasion, and corrosion. This solution can be particularly useful for the transportation of slurries and, more particularly, oil sands.
