  • Patent number: 5593626
Abstract: A molded filter element is fabricated by the method comprising the steps of: preparing a plastic composition of a powder-grain adsorbent of 100 weight parts, an emulsion type synthetic resin binder of 5-20 weight parts having a film-making capability at room temperature, an aqueous high-polymer binder of 0.5-5 weight part, and water of the amount sufficient to change the compound of these agents into a composition having its own shape holding property; pressure-filling said plastic composition in a mold composed of plural members to provide a molded filter element; evaporating water until the molded filter element has a shape-holding strength in a state where at least one member of said mold is removed; and heat-treating the molded filter element at a temperature of 110.degree.-160.degree. • Patent number: 5034127
Abstract: The brine purifying system employs a multistage filtering apparatus comprising a plurality of the same filter units piled up one over another to form a plurality of cascaded filtering stages. When the filter layers of the filter units are clogged with unsoluble matters, the operation of the multistage filtering apparatus is interrupted, then a solvent for the unsoluble matters is circulated through the multistage filtering apparatus to remove the unsoluble matters arrested by the filter layers by dissolving the same therein. Then, a washing liquid is circulated through the multistage filtering apparatus to wash the multistage filtering apparatus completely. The solvent and the washing liquid used for regenerating and washing the multistage filtering apparatus are recovered and are used for dissolving salt to prepare saturated brine. The unsoluble matters thus removed from the filter layers are removed by being precipitated in a precipitating tank.

  • Patent number: 4963258
Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a casing, a semiflexible, perforated core and a filter cloth. The casing is provided with a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet and the core is arranged within the casing and between the liquid inlet and the liquid outlet so that liquid which passes from the inlet to the outlet must pass through the core at least once. The filter cloth covers the surfaces of the core so that liquid which passes from the inlet to the outlet must pass through the filter cloth at least once. In a first embodiment, the core includes an outer cylindrical portion, an inner cylindrical portion, an annular intermediate portion extending between the outer cylindrical portion and the inner cylindrical portion, and a plurality of fin portions extending radially inward from the outer cylindrical portion toward the inner cylindrical portion. In a second embodiment, the core includes a cylindrical portion and a plurality of fin portions extending radially outward from the cylindrical portion.

  • Patent number: 4944870
Abstract: An automatic filtration dewatering system includes a cover to which a filtration raw liquid supply pipe and a pressure air supply pipe are connected. A plate having a filter medium support and a filtrate exhaust pipe is selectively closed by a cover with a pneumatic cylinder vertically moving said cover. Filter medium moving rollers are provided on both sides of the cover and plate, and a sheet-like long filter medium is stretched over said rollers for movement a predetermined distance per one step of filtration.

  • Patent number: 4919806
Abstract: A cross-flow type filter system includes a filter body divided into an inner primary chamber and an outer secondary chamber by a partition for fixing a plurality of flat filter media in parallel with each other, a rotor located within said primary chamber and adjacent to the surfaces of said filter media. The rotor is rotatable about a shaft extending therethrough and vertical with respect to the surfaces of the media, and allowes a liquid to flow in a direction parallel with the shaft. The system also includes a feed inlet passage provided to the primary chamber at a position adjacent to the shaft, a feed inlet passage located at a position around and adjacent to the media, and a filtrate outlet passage provided to the secondary chamber.

  • Patent number: 4861385
Abstract: An article washing method includes the steps of bringing an article into a washing chamber; spraying a first washing liquid fed from a washing liquid tank to the article; separating off an initial most contaminated portion of the washing liquid used; repeating the spray with use of a cleaner washing liquid fed from a second washing liquid tank if required; moving the article after treatment by the spray to a third washing liquid tank to immerse the article in clean washing liquid; and sequentially supplying a part of the clean washing liquid from the latter stage to the washing liquid tank in an earlier stage so as to compensate for a decrease corresponding to the amount of the contaminated washing liquid discharged. The present invention makes it possible to reduce generation of waste liquid to a minimum and provides an improved washing effect by allowing the setting of optimum operational conditions.

  • Patent number: 4762624
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filtering/concentrating a raw liquid such as industrial waste water or suspension of various kinds. Such raw liquid is additionally dispersed with grains in advance before being subjected to a cross flow filtration in which a tubular filtering member is used. The raw liquid is supplied through the tubular member under pressure. Since the tubular filtering member is provided with a guide member which guides the supplied raw liquid spirally therealong, suspended matter or suspended particles will not stay on the filtering surface. The size of the grains is less than one third the diameter of the tubular member in case where said grains have a specific gravity larger than the raw liquid. If the grains have a specific gravity smaller than the raw liquid, the grain size may vary from one tenth to nine tenths the tubular filtering member.
