The one or more fatty alcohols may be present in an amount effective to selectively inhibit the growth of at least one detrimental Gram-positive bacteria and promote the growth of at least one beneficial Gram-positive bacteria on skin. The detrimental Gram-positive bacteria may include Corynebacterium, and the beneficial Gram-positive bacteria may include Staphylococcus.
